I would like to see a little bit of random world events like
GB / Empire - Neutral ( say had made peace with Germany in 40 ) 10%
Serious unrest in India say 10% chance 43 onwards
Russia say 10% chance knocked out of the War and becomes neutral in 42 ( arrival of some German naval units esp U Boats:)
Russia say 10% chance of starting war with Japan in late 44

These ideas would make for a little more ( but possible ) uncertainty ( fun ) and we should not be playing with 100% certainty.

Anyone else have any ideas ?

If you really want that, then make some mods and roll a dice to see which scenario you'll play.

I was thinking of all of them as possibilities ??

I suppose for play balance they may have to be amended so both sides are happy with the chances they get.

My main point was we should not know excatly when these events happen - its too much advantage

Yeah. How about "Sub spots KB heading South on the afternoon of the 6th---ALL surprise benefits lost, all CAP flies, all AAA maned and ready." The Japanese certainly considered this to be a distinct possibility (thus their delight when the "Tora Tora Tora" message was recieved).

well, England makes peace does what ? Adds the entire English navy and a bunch of early war US assets?
Tripples us planes and troops? no Europe?
Now that would be a race, how fast could you reach Tokyo?

It would be interesting to be able to explore alternate war plans/political decisions.

Some what ifs that I can think of.

Japan decides to only go to war with the Dutch and the British. US entry into the war is delayed. The US would join some time later. There would be no Dec 7 suprise in this case. Game length would likely need to be extended to provide allies more time to recover and counterattack.

Germany and Italy do not declare war on the US. US entry into European war is delayed. Additional resources are available in the early portion of the pacific war as there is less commitment (continued lend lease only) to Europe in the early stages. Game length would likely need to be shortened to account for additional US forces.

Japanese decide to support German war effort and invades Russia and attacks British and Dutch for resources. Variation of the first one, US will come in some time later with no Dec 7 suprise.

Edit to correct typos

Implementing event word winde in WITP (II) - will be surely nice thing how to give replaybylity to game (and some ahistrocicalyty) - imagine spooting of KB before pearl, or problems with mahnattan project (e.q. delaying nukes by 6 months or at very low probality canceling that project, or speeding it up :) ).
Or just some much more minors - like better/earlier cooperation in RaD of planes between germanz and japan resulting if faster developing of planes/engines }something similiar can happen to US too].

And operation planes as suggested bz windfire are VERY interesing.
