It's coming... we're working out the final issues now (really), shouldn't be much longer with any luck.

More to the point, some awesome previews of this will be coming sooner.

Won't be this week. Erik is busy with the DW's release.

There are MONTHS worth of work that has been done on this patch. This isn't something that is being planned it's something in the final stages. This is much closer to a new game than a patch. You'll just have to wait to see what all it entails.

Reassuring words MR. Thanks for the update.

I am also eagerly awaiting Distant Worlds. Even though it is not my usual genre it is looking like a must buy and I will purchase it on release.

It has been a very long wait for the PC:K update though. Certainly the longest wait for a patch I can recall. I'm sure it will be worth it.

Just re-read your message and realise I probably misread it. I initially thought you meant it wouldn't be quiet on the PC:K front this week and took it as a positive. I now think you probably meant that the PC:K update won't be released this week. - so that is a negative. [:(] PC:K's update seems to be constantly delayed by newer projects.

Hey Matrix Games:

I've got a deal for you.  Release the PCK mega patch by next Saturday and I'll buy a copy of Distant Worlds.

I think we are down to the wire but Erik is too busy with all these new releases and new forums.

There's a lot more than nothing behind the scenes though...

I will say that the hotkeys alone make the game more playable for me. I'm actually playing random battles and enjoying it.

There is a plan and a timeframe and I'm sure Erik will give some bones soon.

So no one has asked this week...is it soon?

I mean, I'm not even asking about the update. How about the preview?

I am actually more interested in what the plan is for the product in the future. Is their any kind of rough roadmap?

We're extremely close to a release candidate and that means we're also extremely close to the preview. We're doing some more testing this week, I would expect that next week we'll be ready to post some preview information and the road map ahead.

I'm very interested in what the patch holds...seems like Matrix has got hold of the game and has made massive changes (thats from what I can tell from reading the forum)...so I may be close to buying...I have my eye on any infantry changes...

Do the changes effect realism...mechanics...or are they mainly extra units\maps and campaigns\sceanrios etc?

Will it take it to on par with Combat Missions realism\detail?

Yes. As in when you come to the fork in the road. Take it.

I am not a believer in realism in CM so you'd have to ask someone who knows both games.
