There are a number of abbreviations used in the AE 's OOB for which I cannot find a reference. For example, the title of unit # 6513, 2nd RAAF M/W Squadron....

What does the "M/W" stand for? It looks like an airfield construction outfit but...?

Did I look past an abbreviation listing somewhere in the manual/documentation?

Thanks in advance for answering a dumb question.

Regards,
Helldiver

"There are no dumb questions, just dumb people who ask questions."

A quote from a professor of mine many years ago.  I always thought it funny.

Sorry, I don't know the answer.

It stands for Mobile Works; it is an engineer unit.

The following site has a list of RAAF abbreviatons, as well as other Australian OOB stuff:

http://home.st.net.au/~dunn/index.htm

Scroll down and click on the RAAF icon.
