Status: offline 		See the attached image. The playable are of my window is restricted to about an 1150x870 out of my screen. Since my primary display is 2560x1600 and my side screens are 1200x1600 that's a fairly severe wastage of screen space. The screenshot was taken while maximized and then shrunk to 25% in both dimensions to keep the file size reasonable, the same thing happens if it's in a re-sizable window.

I'm running win7-x64 ultimate. This happened both with the initial 3.0 install on my CD, and with the v3.2.29.27 patch installed.

Thanks for this, since I've exactly the same issue.

After a HDD crash over Christmas/NY that would have set me back 150 odd to replace, I decided it was time for a new machine, so upgraded my 8 year old XP desktop to a new Wind Vista 32-bit laptop. It came with a printer but now cannot use my old scanner to scan/copy. I've been having so many problems with Vista I could just tear my hair out.

I've upgraded to latest TOAW III and can usually sort these issues for myself, though I've been away from TOAW for a while now. I've read through everything and tried the compatibility switch as well to Windows XP (SP2)- could I just ask you if this is what you used to get it working and if you set any other switches to get it going for you?

Status: offline 		I don't recall doing anything additionally, but when I tried to get TOAW3 running on my one machine running Vista it didn't work for me either.

Well that's just bloody f'ing brilliant, and leaves me totally f'ed, because it's a staggering amount of work back to XP for me. I swear- as God is my witness- that if I didn't need Windows for business I'd go with Apple and System X.

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "When God shuts down Windows he opens doors".

Let's all hope Windows 13 works.

Status: offline 		Dunno what your time's worth; but $110 for a Windows 7 Upgrade Disk might be the easier option. Before you do anyhting though it might be worth waiting a few days to see if anyone from Matrix can chime in with instructions for vista.

Status: offline 		Yes, I hope this works and winging its way in from Singapore as we speak for nothing ex €20 shipping. Let's see if anyone out there has brighter ideas than mine- I'm all out and can usually sort these types of issues.

The only good things I can say about Windows these days is that it was once good, and is now an illuminating experience that teaches creativity, resourcefulness and lateral thinking in a room with all the Windows blacked out...

just change properties on statup icon of compatability tab (right click) to Windows XP, will run fine in windows 7.

Status: offline 		I'm not sure why XP Compatibility didn't work, but the patch is coming fairly soon, so you may have to wait until the patch beta is out which doesn't require that flag. Then I'll have more options on how to find out what's going on and how to fix it.

The other option would be to take out most of your memory. You've got over two gig installed, which isn't reported correctly using the old APIs that were being used. Norm programmed it to run on as little as 32 Meg (yes, Meg) of memory. Unfortunately it was reporting 0 Meg of memory, which is less than 32, and making the maximum screen size pretty small.

It's amazing how often someone puts a smoke detector in the code which causes a fire.
