Danger Will Robinson! I think the staff may have made a grievous error in the PI.

This turn 16K LYB's were spotted in the hex West of Aparri. The staff intel guys assumed it was the Mongol Horde moving East from Vigan but it now occurs to me it is more likely the defeated troops from Aparri.

Based on this erroneous assumption, another staff guy trying to get medals ordered an attack at Vigan. It might work...but...

If JJ is going to dig in North and Northeast of Pegu and Rangoon, trying to hold on to Burma...perhaps we should oblige them..sort of.

6th Australian and an infantry Brigade are headed for Bessien already. The diggers are prepping for Rangoon. If they don't garrison it properly we may just nip across the Irrawaddy.

An Indian Div, possibly the 5th, has just left Aden, prepping for Moulmein.

Huzzah!

You know, with all these Indian units fighting for the King, I would lay odds they are going to ask for their country back afterward.

Yes 5th Indian. An experienced division too. Perhaps they were in North Africa? It seem General Briggs wasn't aggressive enough so they left him behind.

Karenko et environs: The crevah Arried strategy to shoehorn in some troops to Karenko while Kirishima was away rearming was....ummm..lacking in imagination. That's it. It turns out Kongo has been healed as well. I don't know where our surface groups went. They were no match for Kongo but at least they might have bought time. Important safety tip. If you are disembarking across the beach from an 8 Kt LCT and a 30 Kt Jap BB shows up, you should just get off the damn thing, not try to make a run for it. This looks worse than it is. The troops are from 158th RCT. Who would have thought an LCT could hold 400 men plus equipment? We lose 1,200. A big hit. Clearly our naval search efforts need some tweaking.

Night Time Surface Combat, near Karenko at 87,64, Range 8,000 Yards

Japanese Ships
BB Kongo
DD Hagikaze
DD Yudachi
DD Usugumo
DD Kisaragi

LCT-322, Shell hits 2, and is sunk

3180 casualties reported
Squads: 140 destroyed, 187 disabled
Non Combat: 4 destroyed, 4 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 0 disabled
Guns lost 8 (6 destroyed, 2 disabled)

More PT boat intercepts. We lose two boats. Then some LST's with suppries for Hroycrappo-jima have a scare. I think the IJN is out of ammo.

The APD's, emboldened after surviving TWO brushes with a heavy SCTF decide to troll for swordfish. Instead, they find aerial torpedoes. Crap! The loss is overstated, but still. Lousy CAP too.

We had to watch Pocahantas Girl's house on Friday. It seems her new boyfriend, who is a bail bond detective, had two guys with cheap jackets and guns show up at his place and ask the neighbors questions. The story is that he is looking for a guy who jumped a $2M bond. That sounds a bit far-fetched to me.

More likely it is PG's ex's private eyes.

She went to a hotel for the night. Nothing happened except SG ran right over a skunk but didn't kill it. The poor thing sprayed a Camry oil pan and had quite a story to tell in skunk language.

Wait, how far from the water can you be in England? Now that you bring it up, weren't the Danes pretty much sex slaves of the Vikings too?

SG's youngest adoptive daughter is tremendously interested in bartending. She's only 8 but already knows what a "shot glass" is. She found a martini shaker downstairs and it was like Christmas. I bought the martini shaker for my partner at work before he told me he doesn't drink. I kept it. He doesn't even celebrate Christmas. He's Jewish, but he has a Christian-sounding name, unlike Saul the Mexican gardener who has a real lawnmower and apparently had some kind of intimate experience with PG. Go figure.

Where was I? Oh yeah, the 8 year old with bartending aspirations. It's funny as Hell but I am pretty sure there will be a reckoning for me at some point in the future.

Still, you can't be sure. My nephew wanted to be a "lawn mower guy" at this age. He had a play lawnmower that would entertain him for hours. Now he is a biomedical engineering PhD student.

No they were at PG's boyfriend's house, but they had his cellphone hacked somehow so it was suspected they had PG's cell phone number and might be able to search it or had been tracking her boyfriend's movements.

One time, years ago, my daughter told me, "Oh dad, I forgot to tell you the FBI was here on Wednesday"

I just realized the cheapest way to free up some ground troops is to convert the Hawaii Command flagged troops on Oahu (4 regiments of 24th and 25th ID) to Pacific Ocean Areas HQ. The full Dvisions can't reform because they both have a regiment at Iba. I started them prepping for Sakhalin Is. They will be ready in 24 days. With the separate infantry regiments in NorthPac that makes potentially 7 regiments of Infantry for landing at Shikuka. Almost certainly, that is enough. Pretty sure we don't even have enough AP's for that. Shimushiri-jima has only 2 Bn of infantry and some combat engineers prepped but that is probably enough to defeat the construction guys there in winterized diapers.

Omentum-jima has probably enough Canadians prepped to take the place but they are all still restricted and we won't have enough PP's to free them all up. 18th Canadian Br. is green and understrength.

So what kind of questions were they asking about PG's house?

No they were at PG's boyfriend's house, but they had his cellphone hacked somehow so it was suspected they had PG's cell phone number and might be able to search it or had been tracking her boyfriend's movements.

One time, years ago, my daughter told me, "Oh dad, I forgot to tell you the FBI was here on Wednesday"

Years ago I was on a grand jury and these two narcs, who operated as a team, testified before us several times. If you were presented with a large room-full of people and asked "who are the druggies?" you would pick them! So the guys in the cheap jackets, who knows!

Kirishima 2 nights ago. Kongo last night. Seems like we have a free night. What could go wrong? The Herens, the Vals and the Marys are coming from Okinawa.

Takao now has 130 fighters.
