Greetings,

This shall be an AAR of the War In Russia Mod campaign ~ SW Mod WIR 1.3

Comrade Stormwolf is pitted against the Norwegian General in the OKH.

House Rules have been created:
- Soviet Air force Units may fly recon + CAP on the first turn
- Soviet Air force units are not allowed to fly strike missions on the first turn (due to political factors {not to appear as the aggressor in world opinion} and communications delays from STAVKA to regional commands


Soviet Air force units have been updated to include the correct number and types of operational aircraft on June 22, 1941 including the correct percentage of types serviceable

*adjustments

-The majority of soviet air force units have been withdrawn behind the rivers dvina and dniepr to prevent their destruction on the ground. Those unserviceable have been placed on railway cars and withdrawn (soviets were aware of the german attack date and the destruction of the air force could have been avoided by such a move)

- The number of german replacement airframes and pilots has been increased (if a heavy toll was exacted on the Eastern Front, aircraft from Europe and the Mediterranean could have been diverted)


- The aircraft stats have been corrected based on accurate historical data

Flash - STAVKA to all Regional VVS Commands:

Initiate Operation Rattrap: Interception of German bombing raids with I-16 "Rata" Aircraft

As instructed, I-16 Rata Fighters have been transferred overnight to critical airbases and port facilities. It is expected that german intelligence is aware of the vacuum of fighter presence in those locations and long distance unescorted strikes are expected against the ports of Sevastopol and Leningrad as well as major airbases west of the Dvina river. It is essential that these raids are attacked on the inbound leg as the fighters' horizontal speed is slower than the Junkers and Heinkell bomber aircraft without payload. In addition damage to ships and installations must be kept to an absolute minimum, and it is expected that all contested airfields shall be made operational within 24 hours of these strikes. Failures shall not be tolerated.
