My first question is - is there any way to change the font of all of the print in the game? It all seems really small to me - any way to make it bigger and say in arial font? it's hard on my eyes to read it.

There's a command line switch '-altFont'.

Either that or you can also use -altFont, that should work too.

Cheers!

Go to your computer's start menu, got to Programs, find the War in the Pacific:Admiral's Edition Quick Start option. Right click on it.

Select Properties on the bottom of the list.

A box will pop up. Select the Shortcut tab. In the part which reads Target, add a space and the -altFont after the last ".

So it should read something like this:

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -altFont

Click apply.

Then load the game up using that same Quick Start option. You should now see all ingame text in the alternative font.

Hope that's of use.

edit: There is a bit of 'text merging' when using this font on some screens. Nothing too bad although it is is a bit unsightly when words in columns overlap.

Right click on the executable file and select send to desktop (create shortcut).
Then right click on the shortcut on your desktop -> properties
and then set the target field ...

or (from the whatsNew.pdf in the folder)
quote:

To use any of these, Right click to edit the Properties on the “Quick Start” shortcut to the game
(located in your Start Menu folder for War in the Pacific: Admiral’s Edition). Do not edit the
default desktop link, which points to an “autorun.exe” as that won’t work. You have to use the
Quick Start link which points directly to the game executable. You’ll want to add these to the
end of the “Target” field to get them to work. For example, when you are done your target field
could look like this:

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -
wd –altFont –cpu2 –multiaudio –dd_sw[\quote]

Look at that file for information on switch options etc...

1. Create a shortcut War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition.EXE in the install directory to your desktop. If you can't figure it out, google "how to create a shortcut in windows ?"

C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition

2. Right click on the shortcut on the desktop select ,Properties, select the shortcut tab, then edit the short cut. google "how to edit a shortcut in windows ?".

"c:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -altfont
