Here you can download several different versions of a planning map and
a game map (substitution for a WitP AE map) with data from scenario 1

23.Oct.2010 The first two new maps are ready for download.

22.Oct.2010 I'm ready for your map wishes. See my post on page 5.

07.Apr.2010 New game maps. I added the garrison requirements. (Good idea fflaguna) Because of this there are now different versions for Japan and the Allies. The data did not change from version v1.0.2.1097. The Current version is 1.0.3.1102a

07.Jan.2010 I updated the maps with the data from version v1.0.2.1097
I also added a game map without the hexes.

Game Maps:
data from game version v1.0.3.1102a
The values displayed are from scenario 1.
Here are the differences to scenario 2. I think an extra version is not necessary
"Hiroshima/Kure" Ressources 120/320 (Left Scen 1/Right Scen 2)
"Nagoya" Oil 5/25
"Shimonoseki" Oil 16/32
"Tokyo" Oil 5/50
"Tokyo" Ressources 280/380
"Pescadores" Ressources 0/50

They come as a selfextracting(exe) 7-Zip archive file. The bmp files have to be extracted in the ART directory of AE. The archive overwrites the existing WPEH/WPEN-files used by AE to display the map. Perhaps you would want to save these files first.
To make the new map work you have to set the switch "Map Style" in the Preferences Menu to the correct setting.

layout:
top left: Max Port / top right: Max Airfield
left: Oil / right: Ressources
bottom: LCU stacking limit (red) or Garrison requirement (purple)

Game Map for the Allies(with hexes):
AE Game Map 07.Apr.2010

Game Map for the Allies(without hexes):
AE Game Map 07.Apr.2010

Game Map for Japan(with hexes):
AE Game Map 07.Apr.2010

Game Map for Japan(without hexes):
AE Game Map 07.Apr.2010

Planning Maps:
I just merged the Full Size Map provided by Matrix with base icons and some useful data.
Remark: This is the planning map and not the in-game map.

new maps:
A.
Planning Map - Scen 1 23.Oct.2010
data from game version v1.0.4.1106g
layout:
top left: Portsize/MaxPortsize / top right: AFsize/MaxAFsize
bottom: Basename

Planning Map - Scen 28 23.Oct.2010
data from game version DaBigBabes_AE_Scen028_v03a : 09/05/10 : Full Campaign; Dec. 7 Start
layout:
top left: Portsize/MaxPortsize / top right: AFsize/MaxAFsize
bottom: Basename
sample:

old maps:
1.
AE Map 07.Jan.2010
data from game version v1.0.2.1097
layout:
top left: Portsize/MaxPortsize / top right: AFsize/MaxAFsize
bottom left: Oil / bottom right: Resources

2.
AE Map with victory points 07.Jan.2010
data from game version v1.0.2.1097
the second map has additionally:
left: basic victory points for Japan
right: basic victory points for Allies
(see manual page 264 for calculation of final victory points)

3.
AE Map with industry related data 07.Jan.2010
data from game version v1.0.2.1097
the third map has the following layout:
top left: Heavy Industry / top right: Armament Assembly
left: manpower / right: Vehicle Assembly
bottom left: Light Industry / bottom right: Refinery

I don't know if this map is really helpful, but anyway here it is.

4.
AE Map with oil/resources and Light Ind./Refinery (request from scout1) 07.Jan.2010
data from game version v1.0.2.1097
the fourth map has the following layout:
top left: Oil / top right: Ressources
left: Portsize/MaxPortsize
bottom left: Light Industry / bottom right: Refinery

5.
AE Map with basenames 07.Jan.2010
data from game version v1.0.2.1097
the fifth map has the following layout:
top: basenames

6.
AE Map with Assault and Garrison Values and basenames 07.Jan.2010
data from game version v1.0.2.1097
the sixth map has the following layout:
top: basenames
left: Garrison req. Japan right: Garrison req. Allies
bottom left: Assault Values Japan bottom right: Assault Values Allies) includes Assault Values on TFs
There are some rounding errors but I think they are negligible. Please check the Assault Values because I am not sure they are all correct.
(Thanks again to Floyd and Damian for providing the info of how to calculate the assault value )
This map was proposed by Jonathan Pollard. A good map in my opinion.

Please let me know what you think.

Very cool and I am sure also very helpful. I can't wait to see the full monty. Appreciate the time devoted.

Edit: It is probably too much work at this point but it would be nice if the port size and airfield size were of different colors. Seems like it would reduce the run-ons of the many hexes/bases that are together. Like I said, prolly not the right time. Just a suggestion

That's possible since I put I together with a script and PhotoShop.

Please let me know if you find some errors or what could be better.

Awesome job, this is exactly what I was looking for!

Are there any option within the game to get the map to show all the information that you have on your planning map? If not, how did you get all that information onto the planning map? Must of been a ton of work.

The map wasn't built by me. PhotoShop did the work.
I put together a VBScript that read the data from the csv file that witpload generates.

This is a very nice map. I don't want to be a PITA, but could you make it two maps vs just this one.

Map 1 - Economic assets (Manpower, Resources, Oil, Refineries, Heavy Industry, and Light Industry). If each could have its own color, that would be great.

Map 2 - Base info - Port, AF, and terrain type

Map 1 is possible. The following data could be included: Oil, Resources, Manpower, Heavy Industry, Naval Shipyard, Merchant Shipyard, Repair Shipyard, Armament Assembly, Vehicle Assembly, Light Industry, Refinery.
But I think the space is not sufficient . Do you really want to have those 6 values you listed?

Map 2 is possible too but I don't have the terrain type data. If I'm correct then this is stored in the pwhex file which I can't access.

I just uploaded a new version with different colors for all values (see first post for a link)
Oil - Black
Resources - Green
AF - Brown
Port - Blue

Thanks for the map!

Huh I didn't notice it before, but looking at the values now... Is it me, or you can build an airfield pretty much everywhere in the Solomons, including on Tassafaronga, Florida or San Cristobal...?! And Ndini can be built up to level 5?!
I guess that was researched, wasn't it? But it really changes a lot of things in the area, strategically speaking. But was the airstrip on Tassafaronga really necessary? I mean, I thought they chose Lunga because they couldn't put it anywhere else...

New map looks great. I will be using these quite a bit. I have the game running on one laptop with the manual displayed on another. Time to grab the daughters so I can have the map going as well. I'm sure the threat of some chores should stifle any opposition.

Thanks again,

mylar overlays of the various data, similar to the old book I had regarding the various parts/functions of the human body. Came with 6-7 mylar overlays each showing some different aspect ....

Damn impressive work btw ...

I don't know if you could fit this data in there somehow but a graphic to display the stacking limits on islands would be useful too. Only the islands that don't have unlimited stacking would need to be displayed.

You are too modest. PhotoShop may put it into the right spot but only about .0000001% of the world's population would know how to write the little thingy that populated the data

Very slick looking. Nice work

Thank you all for your kind words.

Regarding the printing size: I think you need at least 4x4 if not 5x5 A3 sheets. I will try that today if time permits.

If anybody wants another version please tell me what data you want to have where. The more precise you are the better.

Hi Marc,

Incredibly useful stuff!
I like the data that are currently displayed, but since you asked...
Would it be possible to add Japanese/Allied VPs as well as Resources?

My preferred layout would be (clockwise):

current port size/potential port size
current airfield size/potential airfield size
oil/resources
Japanese VPs/Allied VPs

Like you said earlier, displaying all the economy values would probably take too much space. (However, I feel that victory-wise, oil/resources are the most important ones).

If you manage to get that info on your map, I will very likely order a large laminated printout.

Thanks very much,

Moss
