I get the following error (listed below) while trying the latest iteration of the World at War scenario. So far, after several tries, it only happens during the AI turn (I'm playing Germany/Japan) of the second turn the Japanese are active. The weird thing is if I go back to my save where Japan first became active and progress from there, it sometimes doesn't pop up and I can continue going. Unfortunately every time I've gotten that particular result, its been a test run where I just advanced through the turns rather than playing them out.

Figure its probably related to the scenario, but thought I'd bring it up just in case it wasn't.

just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

It could be a lot of things.

Is this a version of WaW that came with the original install or a player-made latest version??

If it is the latest i would advice to switch to either an earlier version of WaW that does work

Or... that could also be very well the case... check if you have v1.21 hotfix installed. if not get it from www.advancedtactics.org

Its the latest version of the WaW put up by Explorer2 on the unapproved section of the Scenario Bank.

I have downloaded the 1.21 hotfix, although I'm not 100% sure how to check it. Despite over-writing the previous files, the version number on the intro screen still shows 1.20.

I'll try the scenario version that comes with the latest patch.

Relatively sure I found the problem, the AI spawned a Partisan unit on top of one of my towns in Vietnam.  On my second playthrough when it happened it was the same turn I activated the Pacific Blitz which enabled me to fight them, and whenever I tried to move my units or attack the partisans, the game crashed.  Assuming it was maybe the AI trying to do same thing.

I have had the same issue myself on three different run throughs. Took my a while to track down the event as a lot was going on but it is when a Partisan unit crops up prior to being at war with the west. Had one in a city, one on a unit and one in the jungle but all triggered the same crash.

Still the joy of playing Beta versions.

Thanks guys. Because of your descriptions I think we found the problem.

It has to do with units from one country appearing in the territory of another country when the two countries are not at war.
The program seems to not like this very much.

So we'll fix it.
