Well we have Brits on one side, and obviously someone on the other side of the bridge who aren’t friendly.  So, I’m guessing Brady isn’t asking why type of bridge this is.. SOOO.  Object of this is the gents on the right.. Siamese Infantry

Armed British soldiers meet armed Japanese soldiers, but no combat takes place. Presumably pre-war but where might this have happened?

The railway signal is clearly of British origin - I would say probably made by Stevens & Co - so, assuming this is a British-constructed railway, I would suggest this is the Canton-Kowloon Railway border crossing at Lo Wu.

Oh, and I would think that the locomotives on this railway are driven from the right hand side

Think it is probably a Bridge at Lo Wu on the Hong Kong- Japanese occupied Chinese Border. If I recall correctly the border ran along a creek from the Shenzhen Reservoir to the Sea. There was a border post at Lo Wu on the main Rail link between Honk Kong and the city of Guangzhou in Guangdong Province. Timeline is just before WW2 by the look of the uniforms/equipment, so I’ll say 1940.

I presume Brady is a train spotter aswell and wants to know the type and number of the railwaycar in the background.

The bridge is a truss bridge. It appears to be a Pratt truss (a very common design).
