What about the "let's divide the map in 3 equal parts"situation

Post by David The Great »

My buddy and me had this situation a few times, goes like this, I the US player defends a map, he the Axis player, enters it and gets one third of the map to set up his troops.
This makes a difficult start, first you do not know this will hapen until you setup,
secondly you might already find you're exit locations on the enemy side and thirdly you're force selection as the defender is way of for this kind of situation.
Is there any logical explanation for this ?

Example in shown below

i hate the deployment zones!
and i don´t see an logic explanation for the way these zones are set. its just the easiest way to pull down a stright line, no matter if its seems to be a little unrealistic. just a big block and you, the mighty commander, are forced to live with it.
why is it so hard to use a smaller mesh, i wouldnt even complain if it is randomly assigned to the according armies. but these bocks are just s**t!
as you said, no tactical issues are regarded, neither the defenders nor the attackers.

Is this during a campaign or single battles?

I've had deployments like that in single battles.
One time it showed gerry on the left in the map preview but when the game started Gerry was on the right
