I keep getting this message when I open a PBEM file, and it closes the game. Please help.

Maybe the PBEM file is corrupted somehow.  Maybe you could get your opponent to send you the file again?

You're not trying to open your own pbem file, are you? As I recall, the game will automatically close if you try that on. It's to prevent cheating.

You can always save your turn if you want to take a break -- and the game automatically makes an end of turn save to look at if you want to contemplate your next move. However, you cannot open your own pbem file once you have completed your turn.

Thanks for your response!  I think I have knarrowed this phenomenon to occurring after I have entered into a saved pbem game -- if I try and wheel in a zoom prior to playback then it shots down on that error.  however, last time I played, so long as I didn't wheel in, the playback was without problems, and I could proceed on to my move...

I hate when that happens. I had to re-open my PBEM game once because of that. Ralph is reportedly working on this problem.
