I recently added a table to the Manual Project section on Bases. I have done an extensive search, but have not found sufficient information on how spoilage rates are calculated. I ony found one post where VSWG caclulated a spoilage rate close to 3% for a single incident.

Has anyone determined any more precise information on spoilage rates?

Note: For any who are unaware, Robert Widdell very graciously maintains a Wiki for WitP called the War in the Pacific User Community Project. It contains large volumes of information that is not contained in the actual game manual. The link for this is http://witp.kodapa.com/index.php?title=Main_Page

Note: For any who have not found it yet, there is a compendium of "Must Read" threads in the main WitP forum that every player should read through. The link for this is http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1274014

I have always used this Paragraph from the WitP Manual Skripta as a genenal guide.

quote:

Spoilage - Fuel / Supplies in a Base are spoiled (wasted), if Base's size (Port + Airfield size) < 10.
- Base's Size: 0 - Max Fuel - 1.000, Max Supplies - 5.000.
1 - Max Fuel - 2.000, Max Supplies - 8.000.
2 - Max Fuel - 5.000, Max Supplies - 17.000.
3 - Max Fuel - 10.000, Max Supplies - 32.000.
4 - Max Fuel - 17.000, Max Supplies - 53.000.
5 - Max Fuel - 26.000, Max Supplies - 80.000.
6 - Max Fuel - 37.000, Max Supplies - 113.000.
7 - Max Fuel - 50.000, Max Supplies - 152.000.
8 - Max Fuel - 65.000, Max Supplies - 197.000.
9 - Max Fuel - 82.000, Max Supplies - 248.000.
10 - No Spoilage.

Thanks, but I should clarify my question.  I am asking if anyone knows either by looking at the code or performing tests, the rate at which supplies and fuel spoil when the quantity exceeds the maximum for the base.

I've just read what's written just above the table :
  • Fuel exceeds 1000 + ((port + airfield size) x (port + airfield size) x 1000)
  • Supply exceeds 5000 + ((port + airfield size) x (port + airfield size) x 3000)

That's great information, I did not realize there was such a plain simple formula for the no-spoilage level.  Thank you for finding it out, tables are no longer needed !

Have a look at the Tracker, it will automatically calculate spoilage per month per base.....
