Well, 6 months aboutish since I last played FITE...I mean TOAW. And sorry for my opponents for dropping out, but that's what happens sometimes. Anyways, anything new with FitE? Any balanced versions available?

After you have reached the summit multiple times, you are deserving of a vacation! But recently a few sherpas have forged a new trail, maybe you would like to have a go at it ....

Sure, but I would really like a balanced version of FitE...I reached the conclusion that to defeat USSR the Axis needs to take pretty much all the important cities in '41 or lose by attrition.

I'm playing as german against a very good russian who is not using the famous "pull everything back fast and dig in" strategy but defending forward with a slow fighting withdrawal strategy. Its been more fun for both of us and its by no means a sure axis win. In fact the outcome is still in doubt around turn 25. I was starting to feel a little axis burnout with this great scenerio as the game turned into a WWI battle of attrition with little hope of Germany breaking through the 2-3 hex fortified russian line. I still think some house rule is needed to prevent Russia being able to build the eqivalent of a "Maginiot Line" hundreds of miles long and 20 miles wide in a couple of weeks while their armies are in a panicked retreat and all this occurs when the Luftwaffe rules the skies.
