Well. Naval support is not enitrely necessary when land and air forces do the job ;) As a consequence Davao is cleared of Japanese forces and the aim is Cagayan.

All bases in the Salomon Archipelago taken.

How is industry and production in Nagoya?

Whatever is left of Zeke's airforce is insignificant after my air offensive.... however due to my 2 mistakes I already lost my portion of CV, CVL and CVE's... never again - I hope I have learned :)

Or it seemed so
After been lured into a false sense of security, the insignificant Japanese Air Force just sunk 30 ships, most of these AP's
When my calc's are correct US shipping capacity for 2 InfDivs was lost

Wow - 30 APs What was your weapon of choice - Kamikaze, Okha or Long Lances?

Just 30 ships down, about 18AP/APA (General, Bay, Admiral, Henderson class), in total 2400 transport point, rest MCS, DE, DD, 1 CLAA

The game gives not much to choose from. The success came mainly by Kamis, Okha was not available then.

That was another lesson I have learned - not to leave ships in ports when in war zone. Anyway, I still have enough AP to do the job. But number of your planes simply must come to an end. You are loosing about 1000 per turn and even 2.4k during the last one. Estimated production of your planes may be 300-400 per turn. Not sure if even that much due to losses to your factories at Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka

Amusing little game of musical chairs. But Borneo is much more important -- what's the effect on the National Oil Reserve?

Borneo is more important but I have little means to defend it.

Taking Marcus destroys sqns there attacking Japan and forces Zamli to withdraw TFs and LCUs of other theaters.

A delay tactic that works

May 45 update

Zamli now attacks the oil fields in Java after his subs failed to bring the Jap reserves below 20,000 in the last years.

The landing at Surabaya failed to take the base. All Jap air attacks on the covering CVTFs failed but one.
20G4M made an OKHA attack, sinking the Lexington and damaging 2 other CVs. One CVTF down
An other CV was damaged by subs.

Philiphines taken, Taiwan as well. Kagoshima, Nagoya, Hiroshima in posession of Americans but still with Japs there. 02.1946. Have learned the hard way what is the Japanese score multiplier..... :(
220k vs 180k and I doubt I will be able to finish this and achieve 2:1.

When the game ends? 1 Dec 46?
Can't run atomic-bombs vs jap cities. why? (have planes assigned to missions, half range and still unsuccessful :( )

For shame, gentlemen. No update from May 1945 to Feb. 1946!

Atomic bombs are random things. The planes are probably refusing to fly because the game has determined there are no bombs available. (IRL, after Nagasaki we were temporarily out of nukes.)

There are two things that might turn it around. First is the capture of Tokyo, which is worth 20,000 bonus Victory Points to the Allies. Second, if you reduce the points for Japanese Production below 500, the VP multiplier disappears. More details can be found by reading the "Data Card", which you can find at:

Sorry about not performing on the information front

There was not much to report.
The Japs are low on ac therefore not much action there.
Only one very successfull ac action occured when several US BBTF tried to support taking Haipong without CV cover.
Hundrets of OKHAs attacked and sunk 20 ships most DD, some CA and BCs

March46
2 more bases in Japan taken by US forces, production down to 600.
Right now the Japs have about 155000 kill point, which will be reduced once the multiplier is down.
Still all bases in India and most of China are in Jap hands.

This is it.
I had two moments that I wanted to resign - the first after huge losses at Philiphines and second when the kill multiplier kicked.
Now I see that it was nothing to be afraid of. My patience paid of, and I have learned a lot thanx to zeke and finally I have seen this game to the end for the very first time :)

Re the ship losses:

Now *that* is a bloodbath! Especially, the Allied CVE and submarine losses were horrific.

Nice job playing the game out to the end. I agree, the 46 kill multiplier can make you want to throw in the towel

Submarine losses were due to a bug. I have removed them from Japan completly. Yet computer saw them as present and killed absent submarines every turn.

CVE's....... Philiphines - this is where I learned the hard way how to make an invasion. Besides I have always neglected use of CVE. Later on I have learned how important they are! They were actually the means of final success.
