GPW v5 Operation Zebra game starting

Post by jjdenver »

Hey guys, I'd like to get another game of this started. With 6 players you'll see 1 to 2 turns per week so it doesn't take much time.
German AG North + Finland - lomyrin
German AG Center - gnrss
German AG South and Romania - GrumpyMel
Soviet NW Fronts - JaMiAM
Soviet Center Fronts - jjdenver
Soviet Southern Fronts - wmcalpine

Version of AT to be used: 1.11 Beta - and we'll upgrade once the gold version is released
Version of scenario: v5 (Tom has buffed Soviets in this latest version)

Turns: You should be able to turn around your turn within 12-24 hours - sooner if possible so the game can keep moving...at least as often as possible you should be able to do your turn quickly - occasionally we all know that real life intervenes though. :)

If you have to step out of the game be sure that you've used a password that you are willing to give up so that the game can continue.

Options:
- 3 fronts active
- Fog of War
- Passwords
- Screenshots
- Anti PBEM cheat

House rules:
- Each player (front) is allowed one do-over per year. This should be used only in case the player does something silly - something like an accidental click that transfer all staff out of an HQ instead of the truck you meant to transfer. This means each player can re-do a turn one time in 1941, once in 42, etc.

Pls PM me.

2 spots open - anyone else for this one? It's a fun scenario.

If there is still a spot, I could take the Soviet NW Fronts to give Lars a chance at revenge.  I really shouldn't but...[;)]

I might be  able to take the slot. I'm only in one game now and that seems to be averaging 1 turn a week. I'm assuming with 6 players, our turns won't be much more frequent then that.

You'd probably better expect about 2-3 turns a week just to be safe. If this is too much then we'll wait for someone who has a little more time to commit. I think that the trouble won't be in the first few turns but later in the game we don't want it to bog down. Thanks though man.

I sent out an email to start it - you should have received it. If you did not get the email then I don't have your correct email address and you need to send it to me again.

Thanks

Soviet turn 1 done. Back to Lars for German turn 2

Bill

PS. I will be on travel from Sunday to Saturday, so I plan on using my laptop for Soviet SW turn 2 if that is OK with everyone. There will be an error message due to the switch from desktop to laptop. Let me know on the forum if anyone objects.

Where are we at with the game? As far as I know the turn is still at AGC, is that right?

Turn received this afternoon, Finns slapped around a bit, and then sent on to John. I'd post an AAR thread, but I don't want to give away anything to Lars...[;)]

Everyone,

I had a hard error upon saving (too bad too. I defeated one of those Romanian divisions that are running me into the ground). The corrupted save game file is 21mb in size and is accompanied by a text file that is also 21mb in size. I tried to reopen the save file and the program will not reopen it. I will play my turn again and see if I can save it sucessfully.

Bill

Success!! Turn saved normally. On its way to Lars

Guys,

Had another error upon saving the game, same as in turn two. I will be back home tomorrow, and will play my turn from home. It will be a delay of ~24 hours. Apologies to all
