Action Cards

Post by montarakid »

I'm trying to start up a game of "Pickem". I must select an action card representing a territory that I want. Uh, where are the action cards to be found? [&:]

You have to make them and use events as well. Hope you can program.

No, his question is how do you access them in game? This is a provided scenario called Pickem. We want to know how to get it started, we are not trying to create a scenario.

Capt - Went to Decision Room. Nothing but the standard upgrade options to be seen. What in the world am I missing?

NO look along the top to the right you will see 4 to 6 or so selection tiles. One is the decision room.

Twotribes - Yes, I know where the Decision Room is, just don't see anything resembling action cards once I'm in there. [8|]

OK, went back and checked previous message re "action cards" and from some screen shots I see where there should be a <button> along the top of the Decision Room that should allow me access to action cards. However, I'm here to tell ya' guys, in the "Pickem" scenario they are just not there, as far as I can tell. Too bad, as this looks like an interesting scenario.

Indeed, there seems to be a problem with the scenario as I don't see any active or hand cards available, when starting, and attempting to play it.

Well, that makes feel a little better. [:)]

I have started it with the AI doing a section random selection. This looks like an amazing battle set up for 2-4 players. Think of it as "RISK", but AT style.

if you disable
&nbsp;
a) the masterfile for Pickem&nbsp;and set rulevar(502)=0 (disable category)
&nbsp;
or...
&nbsp;
b) add a line to the first event with execsetrulevar(502,0,0)
&nbsp;
then it will work properly.
&nbsp;
i'll fix this scenario with the next patch. sorry here.
&nbsp;
kind regards,
vic

Vic, I thought I did the "disable" you talk about, but obviously I am doing something wrong. Any possibility of giving a "step-by-step" instruction. Along the lines of, LOAD SCENARIO, FICTIONAL, ...! Click EDIT ... (then what?).

I have 3 friends (and myself) that are really intrigued by the set up of this scenario we would like to get it going BEFORE the next patch comes out. BTW--allowing the computer to make the "random" assignments DOES WORK.

1. load the scenario
&nbsp;
2.&nbsp;go to editor
&nbsp;
3. go to settings subscreen
&nbsp;
4. click masterfile
&nbsp;
5. a file browser now appears. press cancel. (removes masterfile)
&nbsp;
6. click rulevars tab in this same screen.
&nbsp;
7. click disable tab
&nbsp;
8. click on the rulevar 502
&nbsp;
9. click right next to it on the button. set it to 0.
&nbsp;
10. back to map
&nbsp;
11. click file options button and press save (save the scenario).
&nbsp;
12. thats it.

Vic, from the fact that no one had reported this small problem previously leads me to believe that perhaps few are playing this scenario. I'm here to tell ya', playing this with 4-pbem opponents and the large initial OOB is an absolute wild battle right from the first turn!

AT is excellent fun! Us TB war gamers appreciate your great effort in this one. [&o]

What's a scenario where action cards are handled right without editing?
