I think one area that there is a void is in the era of the Vietnam War. I remember many many years ago on the Commodore 64 a game called Conflict in Vietnam. I loved playing that game and was my introduction to turn base computer games. I would love to see a new game with all the modern bells and whistles attack the war in a large scale, not like squad battles by HPS. I feel confident that many others feel the way I do about this.

As long as you don't need a license to do a wargame about Vietnam I think they are green ;).

The need for licenses are overrated. Just change the name and some counter colors and you are clear. That's what the Japanese did all the time with Arcade games.

Boonierat has released some great Vietnam War scenarios for TOAW III. They are called the Vietnam Combat Operations Series. I think he used the VG game as an inspiration. There is also a full war scenario by Curt Chambers.

VG's Vietnam was excellent, not so sure about Central America.

The nerve, eh!

All I can say is that we're expanding the Campaign Series.

There is no set release date yet.

I have Microprose's "Conflict in Vietnam", and I loved it. I particularly enjoyed the Ia Drang scenario, which was brought to life in the film "We Were Soldiers". I always wanted to go back and play it out, but no longer have a working C64.

This game, transferred to PC, would be great. It covered the theater from 1954 to 1972 (Dien Bien Phu to the Easter Offensive). The game has a beautifully printed manual, too, with much info. I bought it at a flea market years ago.

Matrix should jump on an update and reissue of this.

Agreed, they are very good (and were included in the last patch, as I recall).

The need for licenses are overrated. Just change the name and some counter colors and you are clear. That's what the Japanese did all the time with Arcade games.

That’s called theft

Hardly. As long as you don't use any original artwork.

Ok if it takes a bit of fantasy to get Ravinhood on board the Medieval game campaign then whats a spell or two among friends. So come on Matrix the campaign is starting to snowball.

So lets get this straight

If someone was to take the VG Vietnam game put it back on the store shelf under some other name for sale with out obtaining any permission its not theft as long as you change the art work.

Sorry , but that’s called theft

Lol I like how my idea and name get minimal billing in the address, but, I'm happy they can make BOTH in any order. ;) Thing is most of Matrixgames games are like a broken record if you can remember that "Night Gallery Jukebox" song...Till Then hiccup...Till Then...hiccup....Till Then....lol hiccup.

Would one sell?

The PCK engine could handle it if a riverine warfare system would be added.

Steve, the proper way to milk the game engine cow is to next release water capable units in NW Europe, then Helos for the Vietnam module.
