Is there a plan to release other scenarios starting at different periods ?
For exemple: before Iena (summer 1806)
1808 start of the spanish war
1809 austrian campaign
1812: russian campaign
1813: german campaign
1814 french campaign

If there should be a grand campaign it should be from 1792 Austrian/Prussian - French war.

Let's get all the bugs cleared up first, then work on the A.I., then maybe worry about scenarios.

Hey guys:

I have the prelim code for an editor where you can make your own scenarios. I just haven't had enough time yet to implement. We also plan to release other scenarios. We're going to get the first couple of patches out and make sure we address the critical issues then look for the editor.

Good to know.  I was a bit surprised it didn't ship with a small scenario, to help those who never played the board game -- but a large fraction of the preorders probably were from people who -did- play it and are familiar, so I suppose it makes sense.

Editor is critical. It will let the game leverage the community.

I heartily agree. This game should cover the whole Napoleonic era.

I'd love to game some of Napoleon's earlier campaigns in Italy and Egypt, for example.

Highest on my wish list for scenarios is something not covered by many, if any, game and its not really part of the Napoleonic era at all.

The seven years war 1754–1763, the first real global conflict, one of the most interesting wars in history where Prussia (with the help of GB, Hanover, Brunswick and Hesse-Kessel ) managed to fight off the armies of Austria (Habsburg), France, Russia, Spain, The two Sicilies, Sardinia, Sweden and Saxony mainly by outmanouvring them.

Thanks, Ill try to find it asap.

We had a home made variant of the seven years war we used to play, sadly i dont currently have the info we used for that scenario available, need to get it from a friend (if he still have it). Would be awsome to compare it with the web published one.

I agree about the scenario editor, it is high priority for me.

Punch "EiA scenario" into google and you'll find all sorts of stuff, from 1702, campaigns of Eugene/Marlborough, through to Franco/Prussian war (although you have to simulate railroads for that).

Had a look at the 1756 one, its a bit more complicated than the one we came up with, we used tables and dice to resolve the colonial part for example. It looks interesting though.

Here is a link to a page with numerous eia scenarios, including 1756. Once the editor is released there are abundant resources on the net just waiting to be utilized by scenario creators.

If it were up to me, I would place publishing an editor as a higher priority than anything except bug fixes. Not that AI improvements and UI changes aren't needed, but enlisting the help of the community for creating scenarios will only enhance the playability and thus the appeal of the game. Selling the game to more people has to be #1, and bug fixes and more scenarios will do that better than any other items (followed closely by a good AI to be sure). They are also the items which can be addressed the most expeditiously, as AI improvement is going to be a long-term project with tons of testing and re-testing required.
