You know what they say about Scottish soldiers in kilts (think Carry-On Up The Khyber)? - I wonder if that is true of these young ladies?

This is good stuff too. Geeze, its been thirty three or so years since I first listened to them. I present Jethro Tull. I also had the immense pleasure of watching them play in the Amphitheatre in the ancient city of Ephesus many many years ago.

Excellent - have you heard Rhydian's version of this song? As good as the Queen version is, and it is brilliant, the Welshman's version knocks this into a cocked hat imo.

LOL! Funny you should mention Queen. I was at my brothers house this evening and we played a table top family game sort of like scrabble. I won and reveled in the moment by singing We are the Campions!

Cool. Thanks for the Bloody Valentine link. I saw them live at the Barrowlands in 2009. Best show I've ever see even if i couldn't hear properly for nearly a week afterwords.

Currently listening to live albums only: Get Yer Ya-yas out by the Stones, Ike and Tina turner live in 69 and - my favourite album of the last few year - Glitter and Gold by Tom Waits.

RIP Gerry Rafferty:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkS169P_Eeo

What I recently "discovered" is a South African band: DIE ANTWOORD, sort of white trash/electro, they sing in their South African language, which is a mixture of Dutch and English with some African influences too. Strange, authentic and original nonetheless. "Die Antwoord" is actually Dutch, meaning "the answer"
The DJ in the vid is a kid suffering from a disease called Progeria, the "girl" in the vid is a mother in her thirties, married with children.

Die antwoord: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cegdR0GiJl4 (enter the Ninja) You might also try "evil boy", which I think is better, strong language and pictures though.

... dirty disco sex bitch...?? LOL

Well hrmm, all fun aside, was watching BBC yesterday, Jools Holland, and here was this guy who I didn't know, never seen before, never heard before, and I was like... hmmm, can't be much.
Couldn't be *more* wrong.

Here's John Grant, very very much recommended.

I want to go to Marz

And here's the Vimeo version, better sound, not so fond of the video though.

Safri Duo - Played-A-Live. Heard this in passing many years ago but never knew what it was called or who it was by . The song stayed in my head ever since and hoped that one day I would come across it again.......and now I have.

QUALITY!!

WHY is it that most of you Young guys who have a thread like this every few months assume that EVERYONE listens to music ALL the time or while playing a computer game. Some of us actually LIKE SILENCE and music but not with games and the bands I like would seem way before your time for most of you. For the most part what passes as music in the 21st. century is more than i can stand. Entertainment perhaps but not music but then I was young 50 years ago. You could ask a little more intelligent question like which decade produced the best bands.

As far as I know this is nothing necessarily to do with music while gaming - personally I like silence too whilst being creamed for the millionth time by war gamers better and more intelligent than me

This is a helpful thread -I find anyway - for sharing musical tastes, no matter the age of the music - and there has been quite a variety. Thanks to Slaakman for example I have found some music I would never have listened to - indeed in the case of Blutengel I had never even heard of before. I now own two brilliant albums of theirs .

Personally I think this is a great thread.

Slaakman I have no idea what the relevance of posting the picture above has to this music thread and the recent posts

However, having gazed for some time at said image, whilst debating this conundrum, I have to say - in all honesty - that the caption underneath is about as fine an example of a rhetorical question as you are likely to find anywhere.

Not sure whether said image falls foul of any forum rules, but it certainly brightened up my morning
