I know that pilots listed as WIA will eventually return. But I'm not sure about pilots listed as MIA?

Does anyone happen to know? Not a big deal but I do have 1 game where I have 10 fighter jocks with over 80+ experience and 10+ kills listed as MIA.

Bugger... Though as I said not a big deal...

I suppose the reason I wondered was that (after 1.802?) the KIA pilots are no longer listed on the top pilots listing, but both WIA & MIA still are.

I believe that MIA pilots can return, but they can also be captured or KIA.  It's sort of an indeterminant state.  The chances of them coming back are poor though.

Making my own thread go off topic - I'd like to see him back - he's certainly been helpful in the WITP forums. Maybe David Heath could keep him permanently banned from the General Discussion forum just for his own good...

I haven't been hanging around here as much the last couple of weeks.  I guess I completely missed whatever dust up got him banned.

hmm, he doesn´t even show up on the member list! He makes 20.000+ posts in not even two years and now he isn´t even a forum member anymore? Anyone knows what happened?

I saw it once. It's a rare event though.

Here's an idea for "chrome"
What if the "odds" of getting POW's back were somehow directly correlated with the number of locations your side controls?
(Kinda as if POW camps had been liberated??)

Would like better to see the place you're shot down influence much your fate... I can't see how you can be captured off Japan when you're Japanese, or off West Coast if you're American.

Then what will be nice will be to have 4 status:
_ KIA
_ WIA
_ POW
_ MIA (when shot down over sea, jungle or any other barren land). Then each day each MIA pilot will have a chance to come back, or be captured, or died. So MIA here will be describing a pilot/crew on the run (or the raft) rather than a "crashed at night in a remote spot hundred of miles away of his scheduled position and remaining there unknown to all for 70 years".

what purpose would it serve though? VP's? More squads available in the pool?

Is there somebody who has any real world contact with Chuck Angus (ctangus)?

He dropped our long played PBEM some time ago, but as I know he is not a quitter... so I think something important must have happened (I can only hope he's in good shape.. ).
Cant's see him on a radar, no email nor PMS are answered.

Ctangus is MIA. Anybody?

He is self employed. This recession may be causing him to use all of his time to keep his head above water.

Understood, but he did not post any word since 7/27/2008.

Even if I was not really surprised that he dropped our game (very solid Allied CVs spanking half '44 maked him disbelieve he'd be able to do any better) he's not a quitter and some other PBEM opponents should know sth more. I am sure he played two or three PBEMs simultaneously... if they were left just as me then something bad must have happened. I am slightly worried.
And I just figured he'd be happy to know AE is out very soon ;)

Viberpol, I just remember one of his posts where he said with the new business he was starting he was going to be quite busy. I do, however, understand your concern.
