Hello,

Could somebody please help me with this problem i'm having?
I've tried several times, but it just won't work and I can't figure out what i'm doing wrong.
I have created a scenario with the scenario editor in Harpoon3 ANW and I wan't to create and edit some missions for the AI. The creating of missions is no problem, but editing them is. If I open the edit mission window and add some units, change parameters etc. and finally click OK to save the mission, Harpoon just crashes, it exits completely without notification, error or whatsoever.
One thing I noticed is that the name of the newly created scenario has changed in the mission edit window, it has a D between square brackets before it ([D]), does this mean anything?
The version of Harpoon i'm using is 3.7.0.
Can anyone help me with this, it's quite important because it's part of a project i'm working on for my school.
Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Can you be more specific please? Answer these questions and I may have solutions:
-Which version of ANW do you use? 3.7.0, 3.7.3?
-Which database?
-Did you build your scenario over a long period (I mean weeks, months) without hitting "rebuild units" feature?

Have a nice day, regards,

François "Gunny" Guérin

Nomad,

Firstly you need to run a couple of patches to update the game to rid yourself of the crash issue. If you haven't already, sign up at the Matrix Games Members area here:

http://www.matrixgames.com/members/

You'll be able to access the latest Release Candidate for ANW 3.8.0, that should rid you of the scenedit crash and introduce you to some of the new features becoming available. You "sound" like an observant kind of guy, so grab the latest beta patch and join the "bug hunt".

Yes, the [D] represents the fact that the mission has a time delay before it commences. During the mission creation process you have the option of delaying when a mission starts by a time period after the game time starts running. The format of the delay is D:H:M - Day(s), Hour(s) and Minute(s).

I've included a screen shot of the create mission dialogue to show you where you would assign a delay for a mission during creation, and the option to vary that delay as well. In the screen shot I've added a delay already for the mission D:1 H:2 M:3 - So the mission will start 26 hours and 3 minutes after the game clock starts running. Always keep in mind your scenario duration when applying mission delays, you don't want units starting out after the game has ended...

If you have any further issues please don't hesitate to contact me

Cheers

Darren

Hi Cdr Sylvester,

Thanks for your reply.
I am using version 3.7.0, not 3.7.3, but I'm planning to upgrade like Bucks said in his reply.
I'm using the playersDB version 6.4.9 database.
I have been building the scenario for some time indeed, without rebuilding the units. However, after rebuilding all the units, the problem still remains.
Like I said, I'm upgrading to version 3.8.0, this should solve the scenedit crash problem according to Bucks.
Anyway, thanks again.

Hi Bucks,

Thanks for the help, I downloaded the upgrade to version 3.8.0 and will upgrade it asap!
Thanks for the invitation for the bug hunt, I surely will try to help when I have the time.

So that's what the [D] means, ok that's clear.
Cheers!

Martin
