So yes I have checked things out and still they won't fly:
Supplies
Fuel
Ammo
Night Missions
Range
Rail
What am I missing?

From the many times this question has been asked almost certainly % required of fly in air doctrine

also airbases need to be in the right terrain

Okay the U-2's can't even supply the most closest divisions neither in either day or night mode and they still have % left...

Had a look and will post some screenshots in due course. Two issues cropped up
i) Flying transport at night when the airmiles were not zero
ii) Airbase too far from rail
However there may be another issue of misreporting supply distances from rail which I will report for Searry as maybe another bug.

I took the file from Searry and promised I would update the bug report here. Apologies for only now being able to get to it.

The problem is not a transport problem per se. With rail repair on you can actually use the transports with no problems.

But when the rail repair view is turned off the program suddenly decides the airbases are now 12MPs from supply - which means of course the transport planes cannot then be used.

As this is only a change in view, not in facts, this change should not happen. And I can see the airbases are in a rail repaired hex connected by rail repaired hexes to the main grid. So I believe this is a bug in calculating supply paths which is something I have seen before. But in this case it does mean transport planes can or cannot be used depending on which viewing modes you have on.

Something to fix quickly to prevent abuses. You shouldn't be able to fly transport when the airbase is more than 5 MP from railhead.

This "MP: x" value on the tooltip is not related to range to rail. It should be showing number of MP remaining in stack when you enter that hex. For end hex equal to origin hex it should be equal to lowest MP available (amongst selected units).

Where exactly are your bases? Are they in enemy ZOC?

Hex=110,51 circled in red in photo below. Not in enemy ZOC nor is any part of the rail connecting it to main rail grid in enemy ZOC either.

And what is the order of turning on rail status and air transport mode? Rail status is not visible when in air transport mode. I need an exact procedure to replicate this.

A bit difficult to trace the exact sequence so long after I have looked at it - but baring any mistakes this seems to be it

1 Switch 213LTAP in 60SAD to both day and night missions

2 Switch to transport mode, select airbase, shift and right click

The transport mission is a success!

But if

2 Switch to rail repair map info

selecting the base it will now look like this

Hello, I have the same problem in my game. My U-2s won't supply anything even an adjacent hex, both day and night. Can someone explain why?

edit: They were set-up as night mission by default apparently. I can use them at night only. Problem solved I guess
