Oh yes the lost workersparadise, good find Slaak. Recommended to see, pretty sobering though.

Had to see this one aftwards, Monty Python classic as ever

Ahh, memories. I remember my 70 year old grandma waiting in line for ten hours hoping the delivery truck would have some bread on it.

When I meet someone who extols the virtues of socialism I often wonder if they know just how close they are to having every one of their teeth scattered on the sidewalk.

Perturabo -> RE: Life in East Germany under Uncle Joe!! (2/25/2013 4:40:55 PM)

Are there seriously people who think that socialist states were some kind of a paradise?

Some people here in NYC firmly believe that. With such low participation in primaries they are able to overwhelm more mainstream candidates thus they are well represented on the city council and in the state legislature.[:(]

And it seriously depresses me that these people are so clueless. When talking with these American nuts I quote "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money [to spend]." And I get one of several answers with the most common being "who the hell is Margaret Thatcher". If I try to explain how the take, take, take philosophy always fails, they get angry and insult me. These exchanges don't happen very much now that I live in Wyoming, but it still occurs.[:(][:(][:(][:(]

The most interesting aberration is the socialist, communist, Marxist, calling themselves Christians.(like the current President). No way you can be one of the above and claim to be Christian. Their attempt to alter the commandments to fit their ideology is nothing more than Diabolic.

Wyoming, I'll be delivering a load of liquid to Cody, Wy. Saturday. I deliver to The Gypsum plant there occasionally. Are you anywhere near there? Abundant wildlife, Nice open country. Cody has the nice Buffalo Bill Cody Museum. Great collection of Civil War, WWI, WWII, rifle, machine guns, handguns.

We are trying to reach it but the Reds rejected our petition for secession. Of course we are not giving up yet.

It's certainly a more lucid opinion than claiming that Barrack "Corporate Healthcare" Obama is a leftist. The socialist candidate in USA presidential elections was some dude called Stewart Alexander - which got 4,430 votes, not Barrack "Assassin" Obama.

World is a courios place: you call 'socialist' a party that we (in Italy,
but I think also around Europe) consider moderate right...

[:D]

Now I back in the shadow. I don't want to get mixed up in quarrels
who don't concern me, we already have a lot of problems on our own...

Poland.

Also, why would he not be a neocon? Could you refute the points made in that link? Also, as I have mentioned, USA already has a socialist party, it's nowhere near Obama in actions and outlook while Obama is very close to Romney. Obama is authoritarian and is a servant of corporations, hence fascist. Fascist like in a warmongering corporatist state. It's a loose association since no nationalism seems to be present, but much less crazy than calling him a "socialist".

No, he ends up in the centre economically and in extreme authoritarianism. Stalin ends up on extreme left and a little bit less authoritarian than Hitler.

Poland.

very cool , we have a lot of warsaw “area” immigrants here in the Midwest . Great group of people, my grandfather fought with some polish units during the war in holland , he would tell these stories that would have your side splitting about how they treated the limmies….………..[sm=00000280.gif]

honestly, my advice is drop the worries you might or might not have with the current administration, “we the people ” a.k.a. hillbillies got this $hit handled you guys have enough to worry about….[;)]

Sounds great, but I am a little over 400 miles away. I tend to stay hunkered down in Fortress Parusski, hoping the madness of the current government will just go away.

danlongman -> RE: Life in East Germany under Uncle Joe!! (2/27/2013 4:22:38 AM)

The political spectrum of mainstream politics in the USA is not very wide at all
and sits rather far to the right of what the rest of the civilised world is
suffering under... or enjoying depending on your point of view. When I hear Obama called
a "socialist" it just shows how narrow that political viewpoint is. You may huff and puff
all you like but it is a very limited spectrum indeed.

SLAAKMAN -> RE: Life in East Germany under Uncle Joe!! (2/27/2013 5:23:31 AM)

Alright Newblettes lets get it straight. Soetoro & the Femocratic Kommisariat are not mere liberals. They are diehard Utopian Marxists & Machiavellians who will do anything to gain more power, just as Stalin did. The graduated income tax, inheritance tax, social security tax, Federal Reserve central bank, mandatory disarmed civilians & intolerance of Christianity are straight out of the Communist Manifesto. Soros, Axelrod & Jarret, two of the most fanatical Communists in history are Soetoros Puppetmasters and they run the charade with an iron fist. (This has been a public svc announcement). [:'(]

wodin -> RE: Life in East Germany under Uncle Joe!! (2/27/2013 2:37:58 PM)

There is a difference between socialism and communism..alot of the socialists in Italy towards the end of the war hated the communists and Tito for instance as he was seen as a threat in Northern Italy.

The we are all equal and everyone should have the same amount of money and lifestyle is a Utopia that goes against our innate nature, it just wont happen and wont work. A great idea esp if we were all equal and wealthy;). The Human being is to greedy and selfish for it to work. Capitalism is a mess aswell but feeds our aggressive and more natural urges but it too has it's victims and again as we are seeing is a flawed system.

The Communism we saw in Russia and see in China and North Korea isn't really communism but is a dictatorship. Also lets face it now China is Capitalist but with a one party government.

Our distaste for Socialism , Marxism, Communism, Fascism, Totalitarianism. isn't based on how wide or small of a political spectrum we or the world live in presently.
Its based on the false and warped rationalism that feed these ideologies. So, being a just at the beginning level or more deeply warped as the world is. In either case, this is very disturbing. Knowing, how these ideologies discount the human person. Also, more disturbing still is how these negate God and attack his followers.
