.Sirius -> Cold War Database 1946-1979 (1/21/2013 9:22:08 AM)

Hi guys, I run the Cold War Database 1946-1979 for Command: Modern Air / Naval Operations in a nut shell the DB covers period between 1946 and 1979. This epoch saw the 1950-53 Korean War, Suez Crisis (1956) and the Cuban Missile Crisis (1962). Numerous conflicts in Africa and South America were flaring up and the Soviets and Americans were starting to flex their muscles and having influence in developing countries worldwide including Vietnam while traditional European power was in decline losing overseas colonies in Africa and the Far East. This is an era where missiles were just starting to make their appearance in the form of SAMs and AAMs; the Soviets were developing large long range air, surface and sub launched missiles; the United States was starting to build their fleet of Super Carriers and the Royal Navy was engaged world wide. In all, an interesting period of actual and possible conflicts throughout the world after the end of World War Two.

IŽll be glad to contribute to that database with the South American OOBs and date of deployment of different units.

Saludos cordiales

Hi Sirius,

Im interested in asian-pacific regional conflicts of the time, do you plan to include Indonesian and Australia in the 46-79 database ?
At work, I have access to every JANES ever produced if you need some help with data.

Just wondering if there will be a selection of premade scenarios from each era battleset ?

Dimitris -> RE: Cold War Database 1946-1979 (2/7/2013 7:41:45 AM)

Yes, and a cool feature is that you don't have to manually switch databases; the correct version is automatically loaded when you select a scenario.

outstanding, i have to say that was one of the reasons i stopped Harpooning, all the mucking about with databases. I'm really looking forward to this game !!

any sneeky preview hints on how many premade scenarios we may expect ?

Dimitris -> RE: Cold War Database 1946-1979 (2/7/2013 7:53:50 AM)

There will definitely be a number of them bundled with the game and also additional ones post-release. Precise numbers at the moment are difficult to post because they will hinge on how playtesting of the scens will turn out (ie. some may need more work than others).
