MineSweeper -> Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/12/2013 11:10:52 PM)

I do not play the allies and it is strange to see Mig 3s here. [:D]

joey -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/12/2013 11:17:46 PM)

I have seen a number of American squadrons made up of Russian planes in games against the AI. I am not sure why that happens.

dr.hal -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/12/2013 11:19:17 PM)

The Chinese have them.

Terminus -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/12/2013 11:25:08 PM)

Erm, FoW...

Dixie -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/12/2013 11:57:11 PM)

That's not just fog of war, that's a full on pea-souper of war there.

JeffK -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/13/2013 12:08:11 AM)

Bloody Marines, steal anything no bolted down!!

I have never seen FOW report such misinformation.

If the Chinese get them its very late war!!

Have you managed to activate the Soviets and somehow this put the Mig3 into the pools. (Or maybe this makes them an eligble item for FOW?) While 3 aircraft types defend, only 2 Sqns scramble.

Are you playing a mod where someone has got the slot wrong?

PBEM?, ask your opponent.

AI?, cheat and look at the Allied side.

MineSweeper -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/13/2013 12:16:28 AM)

No Soviet activation, no mod and it is an AI game.....do not want to look at the allied side[;)]

this time they get bold and try for my carriers....Russkies can not be trusted [:-]

T !!!!

Your (knowledgeable) input has been missed!

I am very pleased to see you back, Sir!

Gary Childress -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/13/2013 6:14:53 AM)

Welcome back Terminus! Good to see you and JWE back in the grove. [:)]

Puhis -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/13/2013 9:04:10 AM)

Nothing to do with FOW. For some reason AI get russian planes. For example I've seen dutch units using IL-2s. When I first saw it, I checked AI's side. Several dutch units had IL-2.

Razz -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/13/2013 5:34:14 PM)

Sounds like a bug to me as it is early war.

joey -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/13/2013 9:35:42 PM)

No FOW. I have seen it a few times in 1942 in games against an Allied AI. I checked the Allied side and found the Russian planes in the air group. This would have never happened in the war. Too bad more time was not spend on an Allied AI.

wdolson -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/13/2013 10:59:09 PM)

This looks like it might be a bug. michaelm probably should take a look at it. It would help him a lot if he had a save from before it happened, though with this particular problem that would be tough. You don't know when the Marines started drawing from the Russian pool. If you have a a save from very early in the game, that might be the best you can do with this one.

In any case, he should be made aware of it. I think he only checks the tech support forum these days, so you should post about this there.

Bill

MineSweeper -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/14/2013 1:11:16 AM)

Will do Bill....I do not think I have the save though

Andy Mac -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/14/2013 2:05:31 PM)

SBD -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/15/2013 7:30:53 AM)

Kind of refreshing to see the Russians supplying the lend-lease equipment for a change. [:D]

SBD -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/16/2013 12:19:09 AM)

Maybe they can include some T-34s with the next shipment...

Commander Cody -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/16/2013 5:08:21 AM)

I was screwing around with an AI vs. AI Ironman Nasty match and lo and behold, a USAAF bombardment squadron was flying Audaxes (sp?) in August 1942. Was that intentional, Andy?

Cheers,
CC

Alfred -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/16/2013 5:19:05 AM)

I'm suspicious that what you are all seeing is perhaps the result of the game enhancement which allows a nation, when it is out of appropriate planes in its national pool, to acquire planes from another nation. Could well be that the built in safeguards applicable to human players have not been extended to the AI.

Alfred

SimHq Tom Cofield -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/17/2013 1:34:55 AM)

I saw this happen against the AI before as well. When I went and 'switched' in late 1942 I found a Marine unit with Mig3s.

When playing the AI I play Japanese hard until September of 1942 then switch. Makes for some more interesting games.

jcjordan -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/17/2013 2:42:50 AM)

I've seen a similar thing in my game vs IJ AI & it was started under original release & I'm into Feb46. I've seen the AI using IJA planes in IJN units & vice versa so while it may be a bug, it has been there for some time & only is in AI vs human so it might be as Alfred says as we all know the AI does things a human player can't.

JeffK -> RE: Russian aircraft in the South Pacific (1/17/2013 4:04:42 AM)

I'm surprised the AI doesnt just cheat and bump up Allied air production, using another nations pools seems very odd.

It does or at least used to on the IJ side. Given the timeframe the OP showed there's not much of a Allied fighter pool at that time other than Soviets which aren't fighting so stands to reason it'd grab from those pools.

Do you purge your e-mails? I use AOL and they keep them forever unless I delete them, so I have every save available. Just use save as to change the pws number to a blank slot.

Stupid me, I forgot this was an AI. Disregard.

And disregard my "disregard", Please.
