Well warspite has very gallantly published this AAR, and for an experienced wargamer he is doing very well.

Remember he is playing on balanced, and no AI is perfect.

I would think that a warspite would be giving the AI 'privileged' setting next time.

Anyway, he has nonchalantly slapped me in the face with a bratwurst, and challenged me to campaign that we will start in a couple of weeks... Donner und Blitzen!!!
The result will be very different!!!

It will be schnapps and sausages in Paris before winter 1914!![:D]

Now listen here Empire, you keep your sausage to yourself [;)]

Turn 76 - 10th May 1917

Much of the same as the last turn. The French should like up with the Italians soon and that surely will spell the end for the Germans?

What I do with my sausages is my own affair!!

Anyway, they have all been requisitioned by the Quartermaster General to supply the troops for my uber von Schlieffen plan;
Codename: Operation Schnapps & Sausages In Paris Before Winter.

Hmmmmm.........I think the Codename might possibly give the Allies a clue to my intentions...

Preparations are almost finished, I have my false Kaiser moustache, a pickelhaube, and a tray of sauerkraut at the ready.......all I have to do now is find that old metal cannon that fired matchsticks at toy soldiers when I was six, and my glorious plan to crush Warspite will be complete........

Anyway, I've got to put my straightjacket back on,.... back to this excellent AAR......

Turn 77 - 24th May 1917

Ditto - I will show screen shots after the next turn.

I trust you will be suitably attired for the occasion - and that you will be wearing a tin foil hat?

Turn 78 - 7th June 1917

The Western Front is not looking great for the Germans is it?

It is no longer the case that the line is broken...there is no line at all. The Axis have ploughed AH and German units in the mountains to stop the advancing Italians.. but left Alsace-Lorraine wide open.

Well done mate. Looked like fun. I do think they need to toughen up the German army. It's probably not an AI fault as those playing as CP find it very difficult.

Your very good at doing AAR's you should do more.

Oh and I will always bow to your wargaming genius...

Myrddraal -> RE: Bob Flemin's AAR se! (11/18/2012 12:18:45 AM)

It looks like it's all over [:)] Victory by mid 1917? Good job!

warspite1 -> RE: Bob Flemin's AAR se! (11/18/2012 12:25:35 AM)

I am going to bring the game to a close there. The Turks have not surrendered and to do so I am going to need to get sufficient units to Turkey.

Frankly I can't be bothered...[:D]

Congrads on your victory Warspite, and a job well done on your AAR [;)]

Any thoughts on my observations?

Tophat1812 -> RE: Bob Flemin's AAR se! (11/18/2012 1:08:41 AM)

Great AAR! Only nitpick is your calling the Germans/Austrians the axis but hey I love to nitpick.

catwhoorg -> RE: Bob Flemin's AAR se! (11/18/2012 4:16:15 AM)

Congrats.

I'm into 1917 myself on my first game

Serbia - after initial losses has been stable for 3 years

Romania was a wipeout - probably cost me more by being an ally than staying neutral

Russia - looks great for a while, then in 2-3 turns looks nasty, then stable again. Very fluid front.

In the West, I lost then retook Antwerp, and whilst there is a great line, the entente definitely have an advantage

Caucasus - something about this theater causes me to do silly things (much as it did for you)

Egypt - build 3 inf (+arty +fighter) and held fast at the frontier whilst grinding down the Turks
