Just trying to determine which skills would help a CV (any ship?) avoid submarines and/or submarine torpedo hits. Not sure if that is just 'Leadership' and 'Naval' skills?

On the converse, what helps submarine captains find enemy ships and hit enemy ships? Would it be 'Leadership', 'Aggressiveness', and 'Naval' skills?

Also, does anybody try and do night ASW search with CV groups? Would mean the entire group is now night operations...

Thanks

high Mvr helps to avoid being hit

To be honest, the math is a bit hidden but based on experience I would say that crews experience (and high number of escort vessels) would help with early detection of submarine and prevent firing of torpedo. If torpedo is fired it would be submarine crew skill vs target ship crew skill, speed of vessel and mvr rating to determine a hit. I don't think the TF leader is a factor here. TF leadership is more important for determining launching of strikes, crossing the T, evading combat etc.
