I知 startinga PBEM as Allied against Cannonfodder. We have a HR preventing CAP over 30% the first day but, If he will raid PH, I知 planning to set all my fighters CAP 100% on the second day and every other thing that can fly w/ASW mission. The assumption is I won稚 strike KB anyway because the game engine will prevent my bombers to attack against the overwhelming Zero force. So I might as well strike a different valuable target, the subs the area surrounding PH is very crowded with.
Somebody think this is gamey because I知 using historical knowledge to set my assets?

but i remember allied air mission in first turn are flown only in PM phase, if it is true this isn't gamey

To be honest, setting your CAP to 100% on day 2 will end 1 of 2 ways. No losses cause KB leaves (how I usually do it), or most of your fighters shot down because KB stayed and the P40s etc can't compete with the 90 XP pilots of KBs Zero squads.

I know this cause I recently experienced it. Not so much fun to be on the receiving end. [:(] [;)]

Don't worry about the ASW. Your air crews experience level is pretty low so you will not hit much. Plus with airfield damage there is a good chance the not many will fly anyways. I don't think you need worry about your opponent claiming gamey. I doubt he will notice. If you sink a sub, consider yourself lucky.

More probably the KB won't move and your ASW crews will get slaughtered by KB's CAP.

Don't worry. It's not gamey at all.

Thanks Shark, I know that my CAP will be horribly beaten but what different options I have? If they don't fly they will be losses anyway. At least the few survivors will gain some experience.
Let's hope KB will leave after turn 1! [:D]

CRsutton and Greyjoy many thanks for your answers. I would have loved some positive note but I fully understand Allied position the first weeks (months?) of war. [:(]
