Hi, I'm in 14th turn and the allied move the fist step into my country, and it's ok....but I lose ALL the 46 italian groups: it's all right or there's a way to prevent this? Thanks in advance. [image]http://imageshack.us/a/img198/4140/lft2.png[/image]

When the allies land in Italy the Italians surrender (because thats what they actually did historically). You will get RSI forces under Musollini in Northern Italy later,(sometime in 1944), but the original squadrons will not return. This is unavoidable as the ground war runs a pretty much historic course, although the speed and timing of the advances and breakouts can vary a little depending on how well the allies can support their troops. This doesn't hurt the Axis as much as you may think. The allies still only have short range fighters in Italy and cant really spare any from Norther Europe in 1943, so they can only attack a little ahead of the front lines with impuntiy. A few German squadrons in the north will be enough to punish any deep un-escorted bomber raids.

Aircraft from those italian squadrons are returned to pool? Or are they lost?

It is worth mentioning that the Axis player should also move his German fighters north of Rome as quickly as possible, the allied ground troops get to Foggia and that large group of airfields far more quickly than one might expect, in about four turns if I remember correctly.

Are all Italian squadrons gone when Italy surrenders? What happens to the planes?? Pool or they got lost?

My industry is mainly set to research new types of airplanes so I am kinda short of replacements. So it does matter to me if all those G55s, MC205s and Re2005 got lost. So I plan to convert all italian units to junk planes (G50s, Ms405s) and return to pool all that is combat worthy. so Pips Priller will get G55 [:D]

In my game the only italian model that I build is the G.55 (6 build), I think is a medium-good plane. mmm...and what's the differences between 'total' and 'pool'? pool it's just obvious, I don't understand what does it mean the 'total' column.

I think that "total" means the number of planes you drained from pool so far. And another question regarding Allied advances. We have to evacuate units close to the frontline to prevent them from being captured? Or do they evacuate automatically??

@Cohimbra The total column on the aircraft replacements page is the total number of that type of aircraft you have produced since the beginning of the game. As to evacuating the Italian boot, if you change your German units to a different type of aircraft then change them back to what they are flying they will have zero aircraft and you can move them to a airfield further north without cost. You can thus move all of the German units you need to move in one turn. You really need to start evacuating the boot earlier so that you can save all the antiaircraft guns.

When I made my move in turn 1 (in Italy I send to north my german Bf109G-6 and to Ruhr the Fw190F, in the south I fight with the italian fighers only), I start immediatly to save my south Italy 20mm Quad and 37mm Gun. The others are a presents for allied. And before the allied comes to my country I change the G.55 and the Re.2005 (maybe some MC.205) to somethings bad to save this good model for Romania fight.
