I am quite certain more awful results await me, but enjoyed the outcome of this unit bombing mission against some panzers in one of the USSR's occupied cities...seems like unit bombing is more generally more effective these days so got a bit crazy. In any case, hopefully some other players can post their own horrible mission results - we'll see what is the world's worst bombing raid!

Not really surprised though....onkly 18 escorts and SB-2's are easy prey when facing 78 x 109's.......

realistic result. german fighter pilots had sometimes 15 or more kills per day in the east.

Probably Axis Air Superiority set to 300. I have the same results with Pelton. Actually even worse. 180 Laggs and Migs showed up in battle vs 180 Bf109 and 40 down without any Axis looses. Happened multiple times. Really frustrating.

Yeah by no means am I suggesting this is a "broken" combat result or anything like that - I noticed the same thing in terms of number of fighters and have had plenty of successful raids where the Germans didn't show up in force...just laughed when I saw the hopelessly futile result here!

I can relate to that for sure. Many a time do I shake my head at the screen and mutter the word "idiots!"

During blizzard I park all my bombers and fighters for a few turns.

Then I bring back all the fighters, but spread around and in citys if possible.

Then sit back and watch the turkey shot and pilot skills max out heheh.

I move the planes to the most threatened areas of the front. So as the blizzard gets to January and there are only a few hot areas more and more fighters show up and I up the %.

I send the bombers back in February generally and they are able to effect any hot areas with some good effect stopping the last of the Red threats cold and possible putting the ground troops over to the offensive in February as vs Hugh.

Also helps on the ground when SHC forses are over 200 miles from the blizzard start lines and supplies aren't getting to front because of burning up to many trucks.

Hmmm... will have to go to school on game techniques for using the German airbases. Have trouble getting fighter escorts on specific bombing missions, even when doing the detailed unit/targeting technique available in the game. Seems there should be fighters/bombers on every air base and many formations of such. How to do that?

87's should be on fighter bases.

few tips that i choose to do
mixed fighters and bombers on same base
rotate Ju87 to reserve as their moral collapse soon
look that a base is not overloaded (some are at begining of campaign 41)
