Swedewolf -> How to evacuate troops from non harbour? (3/29/2012 9:08:15 PM)

Can I use a Mullberrry for that? It could be nice to do my own Operation Dynamo(Dunkirk)

Nay, there is no such possibility
Mulberryis not a port in terms of the naval part of the game.

As the old joke goes you can't get there from here... Even if you could it wouldn't make much sense to use a Mullberry for an evacuation as you could likely rebuild new units for less than the rather expensive Mullberry. For game simplicity (certainly a desirable feature)units can only be loaded and unloaded in or adjacent to ports.

Were the naval movement rules to be modified one option wold be to permit units to 'load' onto transports but take damage if not in or adjacent to a port perhaps extra damage if weather is bad or they are in a ZOC to simulate the need to leave equipment behind in this type of retreat. The current rules work pretty well in this area however so I would put this well down my wish list.[:D]
