Basically my ship designs used too much steel and carbon fiber. Also I should have focused upon conquering empires to get their home worlds rather than running all over the map conquering independents. I used up the resources of the seven free supply depots on large warships when what I really needed was three times that many size 350 or so destroyers. Also after meeting the first silvermist I was scared to death of them and built all my ships with sprint speed 72 plus, consuming lots of extra resources unnecessarily.
Well live and learn, but most of all, have FUN.
