doomtrader -> Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (1/31/2012 5:43:46 PM)

We have finished new version of the Editor.
The idea standing behind the editor is to allow you to easily modify and create new scenarios. Of course much easier is to just modify already existing scenarios, but please before you will do that, remember to make a backup.
Editor for the game is a constant Work in Progress. We have reached the stage, where further development is impossible without community feedback. Please post any ideas for new functionalities, features and improvements which will allow you to work with it easier and faster.
Post reports about any unexpected behavior of the Editor.

Please tag any thread about the editor by writing editor in square brackets. [EDITOR]

Thanks in advance for your feedback and for your understanding.

IMPORTANT NOTE!

You need to have XNA installed to run the editor, you can download it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=20914

Agent S -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (2/1/2012 9:21:53 AM)

Save modified data button not working for naval units.

Hairog -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (2/3/2012 11:07:06 PM)

I'll start messing with the map for WWIII 1946. I have to delete units for this.

Hairog -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (2/4/2012 1:30:49 AM)

My bad. Forgot to reinstall XNA

Agent S -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (2/16/2012 12:11:59 PM)

rosseau -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (2/17/2012 1:24:19 AM)

Made one tiny change to a unit in Fall Weiss, save modified data, save scenario. Start scenario, crash to desktop. I'll stick to modding the xml's myself, thank you [;)]

Agent S -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (2/17/2012 10:46:16 PM)

Thanks D.,
I notice it's the .exe only.
Could you list what has changed from 1.04 to b?

doomtrader -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (2/18/2012 7:59:40 AM)

really short:
* Editing naval units will no longer crash editor

Agent S -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 5:46:43 AM)

when trying to place sea into black hexes shown here, the error message hangs the editor.

Agent S -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 5:51:22 AM)

bcgames -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 5:55:19 AM)

Sigh. This editor is unsatisfactory. I could turn out new material for this game very quickly if this tool could be made STABLE.

Agent S -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 6:12:18 AM)

I must be doing something wrong here, but when I try adding a connection to a sea zone, it crashes to desktop.

Agent S -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 6:13:26 AM)

still frustrating,
now waiting for 1.05

Hairog -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 6:13:45 AM)

I have learned never...never touch the naval units. It crashes the game every time.

bcgames -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 7:12:55 AM)

Then give three cheers, and one cheer more,
For the hardy Captain of the Pinafore!

...Now landsmen all, whoever you may be,
If you want to rise to the top of the tree,
If your soul isn't fettered to an office stool,
Be careful to be guided by this golden rule--
Stick close to your desks and never go to sea,
And you all may be rulers of the Queen's Navee!

bcgames -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 8:25:52 AM)

I want this editor to succeed. I am willing and fully able to test and/or employ any and all versions of the editor that may emerge. I will record and post lessons learned for the benefit of the community. Waiting for editor versions dated 2013 or beyond are beyond my interest. If you want to produce a STABLE editor, I'm the guy who will record its praises. I am sincere about that. Are you?

bcgames -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 9:25:13 AM)

doomtrader your inbox is full; I cannot respond to your PM.

doomtrader -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 9:41:23 AM)

thanks, made some space.

Agent S -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 1:23:27 PM)

@bc,
i've posted a ton of screen grabs highlighting issues and others requesting explanations....

I expect that time and resources are being focused on the actual game, rather than for a small number of people interested in making additional scenarios.

elmerlee -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 2:31:59 PM)

I REALLY want to buy this game. More than any that have come along in quite sometime.

But...

This messing with the patch release is typical Matrix nonsense. How the heck have them become the "seller" of so many good games

That said; I would still go ahead and be OK with a beta patch, if the editor were capable of a reasonable job..
Wasteland sure pays very little attention to getting this done. They have had plenty of time and should wnat to
please the modders who are excellent "advertisers"

Garbage.

doomtrader -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 7:53:27 PM)

Guys, we are currently working on a huge change in the supply system, which is taking our attention from everything else.
During next week we are hoping to get back to the editor development.

Agent S -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/4/2012 10:23:51 PM)

Thanks D.,
thought that was the case.

Agent S -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/29/2012 3:44:13 AM)

welk -> RE: Time of Fury editor 1.04 released (3/29/2012 9:05:33 AM)

I have to say - and it is not a critic, just "strategic interrogation", what I think about this editor pb :

1/ ToF is a very great and good game, one of the best PC wargame I never player, it's in my "historic great hit list" (Clash of steel, Thirs Reich PC, Strategic Command 1, CEAW Commander Europe at War, Age of Rifles, Civil war general 1 & 2)
2/Wasterland has made a huge work to have a 99% moddable game (for graphs and parameters, the both), and it is a real success.
3/ Wasterland has provided us a very great tool = Engine event manuel (superb tool) : It works fine.
4/ The engine game has been made in a way that allows creation of news wargames : all may be created, starting from 0, to build your own wargame. Fantastic.
5/ The editor is a good tool. But... very capricious (has bugs).

Please : Now, could you try to give us a free bug editor [:'(]. [&o] If your game has no efficient editor, you will have worked for nothing in 2,3,4 points
