governato -> A collection of the best Great War in the East Posts V2 (12/15/2011 6:06:12 PM)

UPDATED VERSION MARCH 2012 with new posts.

Added Dropbox link to PDF file with all posts as an attachment.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Attached (scroll to the end of this post!) is a collection of the most useful posts to play GWitE that I have collected from the Matrix forum for the past few months. Many are specific to the German or the Red Army player, and range from logistics, to surviving the blizzard to the best Red Army offensive techniques in 1943 or later. I learned a lot from the collective wisdom of many different people! Most of these posts (a total of about 70) can be very helpful to beginners, and several will help the more advanced players to improve their game. I was able to quote the original contributor for many entries as none of these posts are mine. (small editorial comments are marked as FG, those are mine). Feel free to send me a PM if you find one of your posts and would like to be quoted explicitly. I will post an updated version of of this file every now and then.

gingerbread -> RE: A collection of the best Great War in the East Posts (12/15/2011 11:12:05 PM)

Hi,

Much as I'd like to be part of this group of esteemed contributors, I have to ask you to pull or at least parenthesise: "DEFENDING LENINGRAD - (gingerbread)".

This is due to that I have not actually tried it out, nor will I while the fort & engineering value rules are as they are as of this writing (1.05.45).

As it is, I think that the effect in delay achieved does not warrant the expenditure in AP, nor other resources.

I also would prefer not to be credited for having observed what others are doing - AFAIK, the laurels should go to Pelton. "MANAGING TROOPS BEFORE BLIZZARD"

delatbabel -> RE: A collection of the best Great War in the East Posts (12/25/2011 8:06:30 AM)

*Tag* tagging this -- can the mods make this sticky or can we perhaps use it to resurrect the wiki?

henri51 -> RE: A collection of the best Great War in the East Posts (3/14/2012 10:58:15 PM)

Excuse me, but what is the use of having a list of postings if there is no information (they are not clickable) on where they can be found?

(edit) never mind, I had not seen the clickable button. Very nice idea - congratulations, I will go read some (again)...

Henri

AFV -> RE: A collection of the best Great War in the East Posts (4/3/2012 5:33:23 AM)

I assume by clickable button you mean being able to read the text file? Thats ok but it would be real nice to be able to access the original posts. I have tried searching and I cannot find most of these posts.
Just a little bit more of cut and pasting would really make this thread great.
