Here are some questions - what are the better patrol ships - Escots or Frigates? In alter game Escorts seem to be very weak.... Escorts are great if you keep them near your supply lines. They can't range too far from a fuel source and still be effective. They are great for at least distracting pirates long enough for your fleets to show up and save the station/freighter that was getting attacked. Frigates, on the other hand, are very good in numbers as a system-defense craft, or long-range escort duty. At least, that's how I use them. There's really no wrong way. Frigates are relatively cheap. Escorts are even cheaper. Both mainly serve to distract the enemy until your Destroyers or bigger ships can show up, although a group of Frigates is more than capable of handling Pirates. quote:
How can I manually retrofit everything - cause when I trade techs my advisor does not ask me to do it...I play witn the newest beta patch... There should be a setting in Empire Policy for Ship Design automation. I don't usually design my own ships, so I normally have this on auto. All you would have to do is change it to Manual. Worth noting that the next series of patches will make the entire Ship Design deal a lot more acessable, with more automation flexibility. quote:
It would be great to see the xperience of troops - maby e with stars? I agree. Right now if you mouse over a troop you can see their organization, strength, and I think experience. It would be nice if troops were displayed as a numerical value, and maybe got their own box when you clicked on them that broke everything down real nice. quote:
And it would be good if I can tell the colony how many troops they should always recruit - lik 12 or so... Agree. A minimum troop setting for your colonies (to work in conjunction with Automated Troops Recruitment) is something i've been wishing for for awhile. quote:
And if the automatic tax would check out the happiness level - otherwise I have to do it myself all the time... Manual Taxes are worth investing the time in. It's really not as bad as it looks--you only have to mess with the taxes every couple years, unless you really want to fine-tune it.
