When will ground tactics 2.0 be compatible with TLD5.50.13b? When I try to load the tactics mod it says I have the wrong version of TLD.

You'll need to ask the folks who created the mod. The documentation accompanying the mod should indicate who created it.

GT2.0 seems to work fine with the 5.50.13b
It does require using the latest ModSwap install utility ... available for download on this page:

Thanks Davidss,

I have downloaded the most recent modswap but it still won't load. However when it says I have the wrong version it says I should look at the .ini file. Do you know what this means?

Hi,
I'm not sure what would cause this error message to be generated.
Usually when I get stuck on something like this ... I just uninstall everything and start over.

1. uninstall GT2.0 and then TLD
2. delete the matrix folder where TLD was
3. empty your recycle bin
4. restart computer
5. install TLD
6. install patch
7. install modswap
8. install GT2.0 via modswap instructions
9. start game via TLD icon

If the problem persists, then at least you know it wasn't because of some basic install issue.

Hi Davidss

Well I tried what you suggested. No difference. Still comes up saying I have wrong version of CC and I should check .ini file in modswap. I remember this happened with the modswap for COI and someone posted the correct .ini file. Once I edited the file I got the modswap to work to install GD2.

How about this post from Andrew W. regarding the same thing over at CoI 3 years back. It has really proved invaluable to me when re-installing my CC games and then putting mods in.
Of course, CoI will have to be replaced by TLD and its relevant # but the general advice stays the same.

You can only have modswap work with CoI or CC3 not both concurrently.

Navigate to C:\Program Files\Close Combat\CCModSwap.ini

And open with Notepad

You should see something similar to this

You will see it made up of several sections.

[General]
Modswap remembers the last version you used...do not change

[InstalledVersions]
Ensure 2=1 and 3=1 for your system

[InstalledLocations]
Make sure the path is correct to your installed path for each game.

3 must read "3=C:\Program Files\Close Combat\Close Combat III"

[InstalledToRegKey]
Ensure 3=SOFTWARE\CSO\Close Combat\3.50

[EXEFileNames]
Check these are correct


Save and exit.

Modswap should now function correctly.

have you downloaded ModSwap for tLD?

it won't work with CoI's stock ModSwap as it is not compatible with anything newer than CoI

thanks for the further advice. I have the right modswap. I think the problem is with the .ini file. I will have to tinker with it.

What should the [InstalledToRegKey] read in the modswap? It seems to be set for the old CC5 rather than TLD.

Try this

Open modswap.ini with notepad.

Delete the text   SOFTWARE\Mattel Interactive\Close Combat\5.00

save

Close notepad

open modswap and see if that works.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions, however I cannot get it to work. Not to worry the game still plays well. I am playing a campaign at the moment as the allies on hero and axis on recruit, 15min battles. It is a lot of fun as it is.

Woo hoo. Got it to work. noticed there is a 2.1 version. Does LSA already have some aspects of ground tactics such as real windows,doors etc..
