I see a lot of posts around asking about infantry battles. Here is a new game being distributed by Slitherine

http://www.teamassault-game.com/

It features squad level action with individual soldiers. Turn based not real time. I'm not familiar with this style of game but it looks interesting. There is a nice trailer and a beta video.

Mobius -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/15/2011 3:30:23 AM)

Reminds me of Diablo.

pad152 -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/15/2011 5:59:47 AM)

Doesn't look very good, would still like to see an updated version of 101st Airborne or a WWII version of Jagged Alliance.

Arctic Blast -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/15/2011 9:46:48 PM)

Definitely interested. I'll have to keep an eye on this one. [:)]

RedCharlie65 -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/16/2011 9:04:12 PM)

After viewing the video...I think I'll pass.

JMass -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/16/2011 9:16:55 PM)

No tanks... no fun... [;)]

Richie61 -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/17/2011 2:03:51 AM)

Looks too much like TOW and TOW2 [&:]  or a lot of the current Russian type games....

junk2drive -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/17/2011 1:38:56 PM)

They may add AFVs in the future.

I wonder how it works without hexes or squares, yet it is not wego or rt. Turn sequence is dynamic based on initiative. MP is online only because of this.

I don't get much of a buzz from it.  I am thinking of buying this...

The demo, once you get up the learning curve, is addictive.

wodin -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/18/2011 3:43:27 AM)

Team Assault is one on my to watch list...being turn based it could be a winner...very interested...also the turn mechanics sound innovative and if they work how it's described really do sound groundbreaking...

Another that I hope will hit my buy list with CMBN (already pre ordered) and Red Orchestra 2...

diablo1 -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/18/2011 5:00:01 AM)

Looks like a bad representation of Company of Heroes. Slitherine needs to get back to their ancients series and make a campaign game of Rome with the Spartan ai.

Prince of Eckmühl -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/18/2011 5:10:06 AM)

It looks kind of like G.I. Combat:

junk2drive -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/18/2011 5:15:44 AM)

GI Combat begat EYSA and diablo still plays that.

diablo1 -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/18/2011 11:35:53 AM)

EYSA got polished, G.I. Combat didn't.

G.I. Combat: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/gicombat/index.html

EYSA(2nd Wave): http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/ericyoungssquadassault/index.html?tag=result%3Btitle%3B0

EYSA: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/squadassaultwestfront/review.html

Quite a difference between G.I. Combat & EYSA or EYSA (2nd Wave)

HintJ -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/18/2011 1:18:54 PM)

If this game has a 1st person/bino view feature then I'm interested. Looking at the vid, I doubt it.

vonRocko -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/18/2011 2:06:42 PM)

I hear it is multi player only at release, is this true? Single player campaigns will come with expansions? If this is true, count me out.[&:]

junk2drive -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/18/2011 2:18:23 PM)

Wrong. Skirmish mode is single player.

There is a thread at wargamer where Laxen answers some questions over several posts

quote:

- Oh one last thing are you saying the first release is multi player only?
- I'm sorry if I wasn't clear about that. What I refer to as 'Skirmish' is actually games versus an AI. A single match on a single map, no campaign attached. So no: it will not ony be multiplayer in the core version of the game.

vonRocko -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/18/2011 2:36:44 PM)

I see.
Thanks

junk2drive -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/19/2011 2:07:11 PM)

Beta sign up thread is now posted at Slitherine forum for Team Assault.

I'll take a shot for that. [:)]

Is Team Assault a further derivative?

CSO,

derivative of what? not of Panzer Command.

thanks
Rick

CSO_Talorgan -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (3/1/2012 6:28:28 PM)

No, of GI Combat or Squad Assault.

junk2drive -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (3/2/2012 2:39:28 AM)

No, it is a whole other game from a Swedish team of college students. Plenty of info at Slitherine forums.

general_solomon -> RE: Team Assault - Infantry Only (4/1/2012 12:17:01 AM)

why doesnt matrix polish the infantry on this game so we dont have to go anywhere else. my request is for matrix to spend some money and remake this all together.
