Question about Australian Divisions...

Post by Major Tom »

Hi, many people have protested that the Australian formations assigned to ANZAC and who are supposed to switch over to SW Pacific do not.

Of those that do not switch over, do you have ANZAC on full computer?

Of those that do switch over, what are your settings for ANZAC and SW Pacific?

I do not know if you have to have SW Pacific on computer control as well, but doubt it.

I have run the game MANY times with computer vs. computer (so all HQ's are on AI control) to playtest the OBC files, and on all of the tries the ANZAC forces switch over to SW Pacific.

If this proves to be problematic (so that people cannot get these troops to switch over no matter what they try) then I will have many formations start off attached to SW Pacific (yet appear later).

Major Tom,

I'd be happy to run some tests. For our information, could you post the schedule showing when the Aussies are supposed to switch over?

I have a PBEM game going (all on full player control) none of the ANZAC units have switched to SW Pacific. Our game is in July of '44. Australia is very well protected but SW Pac is stretched. Dang Aussies, can't count on em like you used to. To busy listening to Rod Stewart and filming more Crocodile Hunter I guess.

I have always received my Aussie divisions in solo play. The Aussie infantry has never shown up in pbem play. I am playing someone now and will try putting ANZAC under computer control and see if they switch. The base should it be SW Pac for the change to occur?

I just receivied a pbem move and tried to change ANZAC to computer control. The control would not switch. The Aussie divions would sure help.

In solo games, even with ANZAC HQunder full human control, I never had a problem with the Australian divisions switching. Looks like most of the problems are from folks playing PBEM games.

The unitthat is supposed to switch does NOT have to be in an SWPAC base. I have actually seen units "move" to the base that they "switch" at. This happenned with the 5th and I think 11th divisions. from wherever they were, both ended up brisbane or something.

One last thing. you MIGHT need to keep at least one base in australia proper under SWPAC. I always kept 2 or 3 so I can't tell if that may have hampered the computer.
Still playing PacWar (but no so much anymore)...

I would vote to have the Australian Units start in SW-Pac control and appear at the right time. This should cure problems of PBEM or having to put HQ on computer control <img src="frown.gif" border="0">
I like to keep everything on full human control.
I have seen to many suicide missions the AI has come up with.
