War Plan Orange NO LONGER Delayed

Post by Tankerace »

Sorry guys, but I need to make an announcement.

War Plan Orange is going to have to be delayed. I have completed it on my end, and require only finishing touches. However, Mike has a huge workload, and so War Plan Orange needs to be sidelined temporarily. Rest assured, this does not mean WPO is dead.

I plan to use this time to begin work on the Russo-Japanese War and Jutland scenarios/campaigns that I had intended to do post release. However, should Mike be able to get to Plan Orange before these are completed, I will not further delay it so that these may be included.

For a lineup of what Plan Orange offers, two main four and a half year campaigns, a third 4.5 year campaign that is a variant of one of these, a one and a half year long scenario, and two two month PBEM only/training scenarios.

While I too am disappointed in the delay, I assure you that War Plan Orange will be well worth the wait. From a computer gaming standpoint, no game like it exists, and the closest thing to it from a gaming standpoint is Avalanche Press' US Navy Plan Orange. All good things are worth the wait, and I assure you that I will strive to further improve this game. I have had a blast making it, and I am sure that once it finally gets released, it will be just as fun to play.

I thank you for your support and understanding.

The best scenarios in UV and WITP are those with no CVs.

Use the scenario editor and remove all CVs and play a great game!

Wasn't there a war between Chile and Peru in the 1920's? A naval war?

Great that it is no longer going to be delayed. Does this mean that your extra scenarios made it or will make it? ie: the Russo Japanese and Jutland ones

Unfortuneately No.... however, ones the game is released, and all is running smoothly, then I'll get back to work on them.

I was wondering how would the game system cope with a very early scenario Ie spanish american war or a hypothetical 1880's UK v Russia, fighting over Australia. ( a very real fear at the time)

It might cope to an extent.... AI play would be out of the question however, but PBEM would certainly be feasible, albeit with some tweaks.

Also close from a logo viewpoint as well. [;)]
