DIY Review

Post by JosephL »

Scorring a 4/5, Starshatter is still pulling in good reviews :-)

"Probably the most exciting thing about Starshatter is how customizable it is."

If I had a dime for every starshatter mod compliment I heard I would retire :-)

"Even as your standard space combat game, Starshatter stands out"

"For a first crack, Starshatter is a star outing."

Good work Destroyer Studio and all you modders out there!

And if Crazy-Eddie and I had not bugge milo till his hair turned gray way back in..2000-2001 no one would even be able to mod SS.
Check this out: http://starshatter.com/forum/thread.php?topic=53

Anyways, Im glad SS is doin' so well. Proves the army of one can still come out and kick butt!

Bartender, 'nother round to everyone.

dynamic damage, HDR glow effects, multi-light ray-traced shadows, purely code-generated weapon graphics, 5.1 I really want that, I spent 300$ on a damn surround system), surface scarring, glow effects, motion blur effects for fast moving ships, mesh animation, duel joystick support, seamless planetary entry, true planet based flight model, moving astroid belts, nebulas, comets, space based stormes, solar flares, exploding suns, directional shields, more advanced ship control system, energy re-direction through a block based lego diagram, multi players per ship, automated sensor and attack drones, dynamic changes to ship performance based on damage, seperatable ships and objects, BIK video support in mission and briefings, text to speach converter to read out all the text during missions.

..

..

milo??

is it done yet??

This must bring you old memories back, huh?
I used to play a flight sim called Fighters Anthology. I've started playing it in 1999 and stoped when I picked up SS in october 2004, so I know what you mean.[;)]

Indeed SS is a great game but "the night is still a child".
I am sure that this is only the beggining of the adventure![:D]

What? I spent 190 € for 2.0 stereo speakers! I guess what comes to audio quality, my stereos beat your cheap surround thing [:D]
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Let's continue with feature things:
- support for 1600x1200 resolution
- starsystems where all planets, moons and sun(s) exist as solid 3d objects and have all the stuff on them (buildings and so)
- improved AI

More when it comes to mind
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Another feature request:
the ability to dock at and tractor ships/containers
just think of those tugs and transports from the x-wing series.... and of course starship troopers or "space above: and beyond" where they were also transporting containers with their shuttles, would be cool to just drop them over the target while in atmosphere
