Would it not be nice to be able to evacuate your pilots in areas that they are doomed, Singapore with no planes and lots of pilots? it would be nice to be able to use subs and take those guys out! IMO

I always take mine out as soon as feasable. With the Dutch I disband the air units into each other as they take casualties. Then by 3/42 there are Dutch units with 4 or 5 airplanes and 20+ pilots. These make great cadres in Australia, with planes still in the pool because you haven't used them. They build back up fast. While the PP expenditure is based on the number of aircraft, it makes them cheap to change HQ's

Also, I rarely fly CAP missions in the DEI and Singapore. Save the fighters for escort only. With the Zero bonus they are just cannon fodder anyway.

I think you missed my point, it is that I want to be able to evacuate PILOTS only, after they groups are spent and are in the process of being captured...
surely in reality a sub or dd could ferry these guys out, having to load them on an ak is silly

Those Dutch pilots can be really, really good once they rebuild. I had a couple of 80+ exp bomber squadrons flying out of Darwin.

I understand all this, my point is something intirely different.. to get these gruops, all you need to do is send one plane or more, and they will be rebuilt if safe and supplied over time..

I am talking about the emergency removal of qualified pilots, and in early 42 the only good allied pilotrs are the avg who do not suffer under 1.4 the Jap pilot superiority rule.. so even though a partial group ios out, these guys have to load on an ak, even if they have no planes because they are still part of a "group" that conceivable has planes..
dose this make sense now?

When I look at the sub transport TF it does show airgroups. Never tried loading one though. Anyone out there tried this? Course I also had a Dutch BF with only the commanding officer left and it wouldn't let me pick up the poor SOB either. I tried!
