will we see bin soon???

Battles In Normandy is the third game in the Decisive Battles game series. Battles in Normandy recreates all aspects of the Normandy campaign, from the landings on the first day to the final climax of the campaign at Falaise. Strategic Studies Group rewrote the Decisive Battles game engine for Battles in Normandy with a host of new special rules for amphibious and airborne operations, plus a huge number of other enhancements.

I expect both will be ready pretty close to each other.

Hmmm, I had this nice conspiracy theory all put together where Run5's move to SSG's website and the forums going down was all part of a plan where a new Run5 site, new forums and the BIN release would all turn on together one minute before midnight on Aug 31.

Nice plan.. but the time zones make it hard to accomplish.. but just in case that its true.. maybe you should move to NZ so you can be the first to buy it then? :)
Isn't that bizarre?

hmmm, I work with a bunch of kiwi's. Usually they are plotting how to bring back real chocolate into the states. They'll think I'm really odd when I tell them to pick up a computer game for me. :)

More like off the coast of Australia. They are clearly in Australia's sphere of influence and as such will need to be drawn into a greater Australasia[:'(]. My Kiwi mate Chad doesn't seem to understand this but it's all part of our inevitable expansion into Oceania.

I've always kind of considered Australia to be "Texas" on a global scale.

I actually have a couple of Kiwi friends as well. I've always wanted to visit but you can see almost the entire country in just a few shots in LOTR :)

Thank God NZ is not convenient for most Americans to visit. Have you seen what we have done to the coastal towns in Mexico or the Caribbean? Ahhh...

They should make a wargame where Giant American Cruise ships lauch amphibious assaults with fat white tourists destroying beautiful towns on the coast in some unspoiled country.

There is a reason the term :"ugly american" exists, being from the States and loving to travel, it shames me to see the abusive attitudes of these offensive poeple and businesses... and then there are the French oops... wrong thread [:-]

are we there yet?

As a stop-gap till I get BIN, I bought Steven Ambrose's D-Day book. Unfortunately instead of helping to tide me over until I can download this game, its only making me more anxious to play BIN!

I'm making it through all the chapters on the commanders and the armies and the planning. Now I'm up to the chapter on the decision to go or no-go.

Really, REALLY hoping that when I get to the part describing the battle that BIN's available right at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a volume of this series, and it is the best source for reading up on the battles beyond the beaches (Breakout&Pursuit). I think everything is on this site as well.

I know what you mean about it making you want BiN even more!
