Why o Why can't i trun off animations?

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Why o Why can't i trun off animations?

Post by MarcusLee24 »

Hello,
i m quite new to the game and i like it a lot. but one thing: why can't i turn off the animations? with over 80 platoons and tanks it ge kinda boring.
in SP 1 it was possible to turn the animations off, why not in WaW? is there a special reason?
pleas help, greetz M

By animations, I guess you mean watching all the units move? Can't be turned off, but can be made faster in the Preferences menu. And welcome to the game!

Retreat is NOT an option.

Hmmm you are right, i wasn't very clear on what 'animations' i mean. In the original version of the game you could stop the animantions, meaning that you did not have to wait one second for a platoon to fire, meaning, you don t hear the guns go of and a computerturn was over in just 30 seconds.
but i guess since you don t knwo what i mean that they left it out of WaW.

Turn off sounds effects and cut live delay, message delay, and movement delay down to nothing (xxx-setting). This is about as brief as you can get it.

Edit your shortcut to add the switch "impatient".
It is a non-supported command line switch for those who just can't wait to die.
thanks, John.

Thanks, John. I'd like to use this but am unsure of the proper syntax.

My current shortcut command line is:

"C:\MatrixGames\Steel Panthers World At War\mech.exe

What exactly should it look like?

This seems like it would be good for testing AI runs.

No that switch was posted months ago by Paul V. If the search was working you could look back and find his posts on the subject.
thanks, John.

Should look like this:

C:\MatrixGames\Steel Panthers World At War\mech.exe \impatient

Thanks! I'll give it a try. Anyone remember any other arguments?
