IJN and USN Destroyer Types

Post by ColFrost »

Somewhere on this forum, someone once displayed every IJN DD type, and what it was best used for. I was wondering if that could be reposted, as well as the USN DD types.

Why just I don't look it up?[:-] Because I just don't have the time. But I would be evermost grateful if someone could give a brief brakedown on what type of DD is best for type of mission. [&o]

Man, that's the height of laziness... [;)] Go to the War Room, there is the 'Best use of IJN DD' thread.

In the great post LargeSlowTarget re-found for me, [&o] There's a section that says that you should 'send back' Kamikaze and Minekaze class DDs as soon as possible. I assume this means to Tokyo. What does this do for them? What kind of upgrade do they get, and what are they good for after?

Don't think they get upgrades, and I wouldn't send them back anyway.I use them as escorts for my tanker convoys.

It was my advice. They got no upgrade but the idea is that if the program is allowing you 50 DD, it's better to have 50 modern DD rather than 40 modern and 10 old ones. So if I have good DD waiting in TRuk, I send back the old ones.
