Lost Files Thread

Post by Capt. Harlock »

Since all the posts for December and January are gone, with them went some of the useful files that had been uploaded. This thread should provide a place for the people wise enough to have back-ups to re-post things like alternate scenarios.

Unfortunately, ".zip" files can't be uploaded for the time being. (Just image and text files.) For the moment, I'm re-posting a text listing of the aircraft statistics in version 3.2, listed by aircraft type and arrival date. If there's a demand for it, I can create a text version of the Data Card, which has important extra rules left out of the original manual. (This file is available in the Version 3.1 download, but not Versions 3.0 or 3.2.)

Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Data Card File

Post by Capt. Harlock »

Since only ".txt" files for any kind of document can be uploaded, here is a text-based version of the Pacific War Data Card, with its highly important additional rules. To save everyone's time, I have deleted the aircraft stats, since those have been replaced by new values for all versions from 2.0 onwards.

Base Oil and Resources

Post by Capt. Harlock »

The table of Oil and Resource levels at the various bases has been obsolete for some time, and I though I would publish the values for Ver. 3.2, in case some players aren't able to look them up with editor programs. Here are the results, sorted in order of Oil levels (Resource levels are rarely the problem!)

# Base Oil Resource
152 Central US 99 99
199 Eastern US 99 99
43 Palembang 60 20
160 England 30 99
153 Tientsin 25 70
127 Rangoon 20 90
197 Los Angeles20 60
44 Medan 14 10
31 Balikpapan 13 0
36 Kuching 13 0
39 Surabaya 11 85
121 Singapore 10 95
198 San Diego 10 60
185 Sydney 10 45
29 Miri 10 10
30 Tarakan 10 10
151 Shanghai 5 65

193 Anchorage 5 0
112 Maui 5 0
191 Ambon I. 1 45
19 Manila 0 65
122 Kuala Lumpur0 60
196 San Francs.0 60
195 Seattle 0 50
126 Bangkok 0 45
133 Calcutta 0 45
178 Ranchi 0 40
1 Tokyo 0 40
155 Vizagapatam0 30
141 Canton 0 25
4 Hiroshima 0 25
5 Nagasaki 0 25
3 Osaka 0 25
140 Zhanjiang 0 25
142 Amoy 0 20
179 Broome 0 20
175 Cagayan 0 20
157 Kagoshima 0 20
172 Takao 0 20
6 Tokushima 0 20
143 Foochow 0 15
139 Hong Kong 0 15
163 Perth 0 15

Note that Central US, Eastern US, and England cannot be captured even if the Allied player tries to help the Japanese. Also, for your downloading convenience, here is a text file of the values:

Version 2.0 Update

Post by Capt. Harlock »

In addition to the "Manual.pdf" file, there is also an "Update.pdf" file, covering the changes when Matrix Games took over Pacific War. It is over 2.5 MB in size, but it turns out to be grossly inefficient: most of the size comes from background images rather than text. For those still using dial-up or floppy disks, here is a text file of the information in the Update file.
