Pbem File Size Mismatch

Post by Taxman66 »

I started my turn in a pbem game (id# = 148260) and then had to save (actually had to save twice as the first time failed with Communication error) to do an errand.
When I came back and attempted to reload I am getting an error message saying "File Size Mismatch".

If this isn't a server problem, then I suspect the save I made was corrupted.

This save file has to have been corrupted.

Do I need to contact someone/somewhere else?

What I can do is try and reset it back to the previous saved turn on the PBEM++ server, let me know if you'd like me to proceed on that. Otherwise I'm not sure what else could be done in this instance.

Thank you Hubert.

It is agreeable with me.
I have PM'd Fafnir, and asked him to look at this thread.

Great, I've tried setting the server to restore the previous saved turn. Let me know if it has helped,

Should the previous turn not be my turn?
Is there also a backup file for my turn, maybe it helps if I redo my turn.

I'm still on 1.16 not on 1.16.02. Does it matter if not both sides have the hotfix.

Remember I had an attempted save (gotten a server communication error), and then saved again (appeared to work correctly).
If Hubert reset to the previous attempt it may have gone to the failed save?
I suspect this as the game still shows as in green Italics for me to load (green meaning my turn, and italics meaning a save in progress).

Perhaps it could be set back to when Fafnir completed his turn? Or back to prior to Fafnir's last turn?

Unfortunately the server only allows it to go back to the last previous turn, not more than that as nothing else is stored on the server for each challenge.

I would suggest both of you updating to v1.16.02 to see if that helps as well.

It's likely then that the save was unfortunately corrupted and unrecoverable, apologies for this.
