If you get HBO with cable, there is an internet option to watch Game of Thrones on HBOGO. I watched a lot of episodes that way, and if you have a smart TV hooked up to the internet it is fantastic.

Edit: Just looked. I think you can get just HBO GO through the internet for $15 USD per month, if you think that is worth it. I think it probably is because every series they have ever done is available through HBO Go. And then a bunch of movies every month as well. Much better than actually waiting for it to come on the channel....

I'm rooting for Cersei. She reminds me of a certain person at work (not in a good way).

Ha Ha

Last year I had a supervisor we nicknamed Cersei!

Season 8 in non spoiler terms.

01 holding breath.
02 can I breath yet? No? drat.
03 OMFG (also didn't see that coming)
04 hmm, is there a point in continuing after 03

Each ep is on average movie length. so in 4 eps, I've watched about 8 eps of normal TV ep length story material.

I tried to binge watch them but just like Breaking Bad I burnt out with the last two seasons to go. The Dragon lady had just crossed the sea when I stopped watching.

One day maybe I will finish watching them. Though no inclination at moment. Only series I'm into currently is Peaky Blinders. Even stopped watching Walking Dead just two episodes into last season. Though probably stick to Fear of the Walking Dead for abit longer, after a shaky start soon overtook WD as far as entertainment goes.

I think this is the proper response to the originally posed question on the matter.

I just hope George R.R. Martin will now get back to work on his A Song of Ice and Fire book series. I have been waiting on the fifth book in that series since 2011!! [:@]

Hear hear. I understand that he is (honestly!) putting the finishing touches on book 6. My guess is that the originally planned 7 books in the series never materialize.

I'd say this is a safe bet. Although I believe that the season will be released on DVD / Blu-Ray rather than CD. [:'(]

Last year for this blockbuster. Anyone looking forward to it?

I've never watched the series, however, considering all the fanfare I've heard over GOT, I'm surprised they are ending it. Are the producers and actors not in favor of staying employed and making money at their craft?

There were five successor shows planned, seems one has been cancelled in the last week or so. They're gonna ride this money train until it runs out of track.

This part of the story is over.

There are several new series set in the GRRM universe, including one several thousand years in advance of current events, that are possible followups in discussion for production.

None of them will pick up where they leave off now, though.

These days, popular shows die of their own exorbitant weight with more popularity. As the seasons go on, the mains (actors) have to be paid handsomely per episode. The costs for production and special effects also tend to increase. And for actors that have been beholden to the show for the last 10 years, they are generally ready to move onto something else and use their newfound fame to springboard into 'other projects'.

Netflix has recently accelerated this trend by intentionally cancelling its own "Netflix-produced" shows after two or three successful seasons to get ahead of the curve. Writing, directing, production and acting talent is in increasingly short supply for the explosion of content and this is their way of keeping costs down. It's unorthodox, but I get the dollars and cents.

Yeah, I thought 03 was near impossible to beat, but, dang, 05, and hmm 3 dragons is a lot, but clearly 1 is plenty. Especially when mom has lost it.

The whole thing will end with a little boy waking up in bed having had a nightmare after seeing the Bambi movie. It was all just a bad dream. [:D]
