Surprisingly, the Check For Update feature worked fine this time and I got a smooth install. So far, so good...

Check if you Internet security programs aren't interfering, that's usually the cause of the issue.
Alternatively download the update from the Member's area:

We would need more info about what error message you are seeing.

Does it support more than two players in netplay?

Figured it out, need to be using Matrix/Sliterine username, not a new username.

There were two files released as part of the Matrix World In Flames 3.0.1 Update.

Make sure you are using the correct file.

- The file called WorldInFlames-SetupRelease-v03.00.01.00.zip is used for NEW installations.

- The file called WorldinFlames-Update-v03.00.01.00.zip is used to update existing installations of Matrix World in Flames.

From what you describe, it could be that you are trying to update an existing installation with the SetupRelease file which should only be used for a new fresh install.

Note to Matrix. Brian explanation is very simple to understand, but file names used are not.

Perhaps a different naming convention would help avoiding user's errors (like XXX_new_installation.zip & XXX_existing_installation_update, or something like that).

Users tend to not read instructions.

Keep the good work and thanks for the updates!

Either you have to create a new post or it does not show if it is the same as the one who logged in. I forget which.

Try this: Create a Seeking Post, then log out and back in and see if your name is on the list. Once you see your name on the list, click on it and see if there are replies. It may be a few days before you see a reply.

Have you reviewed the info that comes up when you click on the 'Help' button in the forum?

Presently it isn't possible to create a New Post. You should be able to review old posts and make replies to them. It is just creating the new ones that is failing.

I have a request into Matrix to fix this at the server end - since it all seems to be working from within MWIF. They are man down presently (marriage and honeymoon I believe) and the workload is rather severe on the remaining staff.

Sorry about this. You should be able to easily determine when the fix has happened - there will be a new post in the Seeking Opponent Database.
