Mysteriously the story doesnt mention 50 years of nuclear tests after the war.

I think they were just studying the Allied bombing raids in Europe since the nukes only started in 1945 after Germany surrendered and no nukes were ever tested anyplace in Europe anyway.

I found the information in the article to be chilling. All countries need to be aware of this when contemplating the large scale use of powerful explosives.

Plenty of nuclear bombs were detonated at the Novaya Zemlya archipelago in northern Russia, including the biggest atom bomb of all, the so-called Tsar Bomba. The archipelago is part of Europe.

An interesting article, though it gets a few things wrong. The Allies bombed Germany by both day and night, and the biggest bombs were generally dropped at night.

A pity we don't have accurate weather reading from the WWI Battle of Messines, where the British detonated mines in what may have been the most powerful series of conventional explosions in history.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

How do they know what the cause of what was affecting the ionosphere above Slough? Maybe it was WWII radar heating the atoms.

Read my post, uptopic (post #5).
In addition to Novaya Zemlya, there were atomic tests in the southern Urals region, which is also part of Europe, as well as what appears to have been atmospheric tests in the desert south of Volgograd.

In the same way that the Romans did not have the science or technology to understand that they were poisoning themselves with lead, we do not have the knowledge to understand the full repercussions of the many technologies we are developing currently, and have developed in the recent past.

That's why I keep the WiFi on my router turned off, unless I really need it. My desktop uses an ethernet cable. It is also why I will always have a wired mouse, not wireless, although replacing batteries is also a pita. Don't need unnecessary EMF in my house.

Very OT, but I still remember the BBC updating the world (and the Argentinians) on every move made by the British in the Falklands, even to alerting them that many ARG bombs were not going off. (Like maybe you should check your fusing guys, as you're not killing enough of our men!) I don't believe in censorship, but the ARGs were ready at Goose Green. Not sure if there was ever an inquiry on this issue.
